Back to square one, that kiss confused the hell out of Ricky... but he understands... kinda. Ricky knows what EJ went through, he literally punched his now ex-boyfriend. He never thought about the fact that when EJ finds out that what he said was true (the cheating thing), he was gonna get so wasted because 'life is shit' or something, and not only EJ did that but he also called Ricky, because somehow, even drunk, he knew he would be there. And Ricky knew it was obvious that after he lost, he just wants to hold on to something else, so EJ reacted as he could and kissed Ricky... yeah, he got mad after that, but he really can't get mad about it, can he?
EJ just lost what he thought it would be a love story for him, and ruined even more the nightmare story he's been a part of for months. But still, when shit went down, EJ felt Ricky somehow was still his 'safe space' even though he lost him, the kiss was his way of saying 'don't leave me' but you know how drunk EJ is, there's not actual words or brain.

JUNE 2019, NIGHT OF THE MUSICAL
"Bitch, where's my flowers?" Nini complained.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't get some because..." Ricky was trying to hold his laughter.
"You forgot." She crossed her arms.
"Nope... I actually am part of the musical this time... surprise!" He made jazz hands.
"Bitch, you what?"

Ricky opened the closet only to be pushed inside and get trapped in it.
"Nini? Nini, let me out!" Ricky was banging on the door, Nini locked him up in a dark closet.
"Not until you talk things out." Nini yelled from the other side of the door.
"What are you talking about?"
"I think she means us." The familiar voice said in a soft tone from behind Ricky, he just placed his head on the door and let out a long sigh.
"You gotta be kidding me."

"Ricky, please talk to me, anything." EJ said, letting out a sigh after a bit when he got no answer.
"How?" Ricky finally said, he was still with his head placed on the closet door.
"What?" He looked up in surprise.
"The letter, how the hell did it ended up on GW?" He finally turned around, it was useless though as it was dark there.

"So... did you liked James too? You had a crush on him?" EJ asked, Ricky let out a sigh and sitted on the floor.
"Yes... but didn't last very long... it died after... that night."

"Hurting you? Absolutely."
