Why did we pick coffee?

To my surprise my dad just ignored me all night but that didn't stop the fear that laid deap in me.
Luz showing up at my door was an even better surprise and being on the back of her bike to go get coffee was the highlight of my morning.

Luz helped me off her bike when we reached our local café and took me in. She found us a little table near the back and we sat down. "How you doing Alissa? Did he hurt you?" She said inspecting my arms. "No, just my old scars" I told her. "Ok good" I could see her shoulders relax.

We sat and stared at each other for a few moments until a waitress arrived. "How can I help you?" We both turned to face her and I could immediately tell how much Luz and the waitress tensed up when they saw each other. "Oh so you think you can go out and get another girlfriend do you?" The waitress said bitterly.

"Well yeah, I'm pretty sure we're not together anymore and she isn't even my girlfriend." She responded angrily. "Typical of you b*tch!" She scoffed.
"Can you just leave us alone Lonnie!" Luz nearly shouted. "We'll see about that," she said as she grabbed Luz's collar. Luz grabbed her by the throat and kicked her shin.

I have never been in a fight and I knew it wasn't cool to get an adult involved but I couldn't just sit there as they pulled at each other's hair. So I did the uncool thing and got help from the service up front.

The cashier got up and went over as fast as she could after I informed her about the fight. She tried her best to pull Lonnie away, threatening to get her fired. Lonnie just punched her in the face and went back to fighting Luz. I wasn't going to just watch so I punched Lonnie in the face way harder than intended.

She fell to the ground and started cussing me out "You motherf**king b*tich!" Luz steadied herself and kicked her back down. When she was back on the ground she looked at me. "You ok princess?" She asked sincerely.
" I should be asking you if your ok"
"Well I'm fine it's nothing I haven't been through before" she answered without a hint of sadness.

"We should get out of here" I told her while picking up her hand and inspecting her wounds.
"Yeah I'm sorry this didn't go so well."
"It's not your fault" I said, leading her out of the coffee shop.

We got back on her bike and she drove us towards school. I wonder what on earth happened between them.

                              ~Luz~

We got to school a bit early due to having to cut our plans short. Will and Solar immediately spotted us and ran towards Alissa and I. "Hi guys!" Will shouted, pulling us into a tight hug. Solar was panting as she finally caught up.

Will let go and turned to her. "You ok babe?" He asked, helping her stand up straight. Alissa noticed something was off. "You ok Solar you don't usually get this tired from running such a short distance?"

"Yeah I'm fine I'll tell you once we sit down" she said, still slightly flushed. We all walked towards the school fields where we could find a bench. We sat down together. Will and Solar on one side and Alissa and I on the other.

"Ok so umm... I'm not sure how to say this" she stuttered. Will rubbed her back "it'll be fine" he muttered. "Ok... guys I'm pregnant." We sat there in silence. "Hahaha is that why you've been acting so weird?" Alissa giggled. I looked around confused. "That's all?"

"You think you could handle having a baby Solar?" Alissa asked with a concerned look on her face.

"Well it's actually two babies and yeah I think I could," she explained.
"Twins!" Alissa basically shouted.
Solar ignored her and turned back to me.

"What do you  mean this is big news!" Solar nearly exploded. "Well yeah but I'm not surprised,"  I explained. "What's that supposed to mean!" She growled at me. "No offence sparks but you're totally a whore, both the male and female soccer teams can back me up on that one."Solar just rolled her eyes an turned to Will. So Will you gonna be a dad?" Alissa pocked him from across the table.

"Yeah I guess," he said, scratching the back of his neck. " I haven't really thought about it but if Solar wants to keep the babies then I'm on board," he chuckled. He got up and grabbed Solars hand, helping her get to her feet. Well we better get going, we have chemistry" I said. "Yeah see you guys later!" They said as they walked away.

I stood as close as possible to Alissa as we walked to class together. We got in just as the second bell rang and we took our seats next to each other. "Today's gonna be a long day isn't it?" She said looking over at me.
"Yeah it is."
