Messed up

I have never found it so hard to say bye to someone but I had to say bye to Luz and go to practice. We hugged for the fourth time in the last 6 minutes. "Be safe please," I said, letting go again. "I should say the same to you blondie," she said jokingly. "No but really promise me you'll stay safe," she said seriously.

I looked at her. "I promise," I said as I pulled her in for a yet another hug.We let go. It was short and sweet. "Bye Ali!" She shouted over her shoulder as she walked away. "Bye Luz!" I screamed back at her. Once she was out of sight I jogged to the field. It had been so long but thanks to Luz I started going to therapy for my ed and although Ican only go once in a while I got the green light to go to practice. Everyone was just doing warm ups so I joined them. I looked over at Cleo and smiled.

She noticed me after a few seconds and walked over to me. "Alissa your back," she said, starting to stretch beside me. "Yeah it's been awhile hasn't it?" I said coming to a halt.
"Yeah come to think of it, why weren't you at school for the last month?" She asked, also coming to halt. "Well... I'd rather not say to be honest." I muttered.

"Oh," is all that came out her mouth before the coach strutted in holding a clipboard. "Hello team today we'll just be doing drills due to some complaints so I want to see you do 5 laps. Go go go!" She shouted as she began to set up some cones.

I drenched myself in water as practice ended. It had been too long. Cleo and I took to the changing rooms after the coach dismissed us. I took all my stuff to the shower room and took a freezing cold shower. It stung as usual but it woke me up after feeling like I was about to faint.

I got out and put on some leggings and a blue hoodie. I was walking out when I got a text from Solar.
Solar: Hey Alissa we really need to talk
I looked at my phone for a few seconds. I hesitated for a moment but eventually pressed the call button.

"Hi Solar, what do you need to talk about?"
"Alissa why didn't you tell me your dad was abusive?!" She said getting to the point.
"I... I ... I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry Alissa but you also didn't tell me you went to court!"
"It's complicated ok... I've had a lot going on," my pace slowed.
"I deserve to know, I want to be there for you," I heard a faint sniff on the other side of the line.
"Ok ok I'll tell you everything," I hesitated.

Leaving Alissa at school was the last thing I wanted to do but I had stuff to do. I reached home after roughly a 15 minute drive and tried to unlock the door. Weirdly enough it had already been opened. I tiptoed in and looked around the corner only to find my mom back home.

"Oh Luz you're finally back," she snarled.
"You and your boyfriend having a fight again?" I asked aggressively. "Well yes if you must know. But that doesn't matter, listen here kid mommy did some bad things and we have to move as soon as possible!" She said getting up from her seat.

"What! No, I'm not moving just because you said so!" I screamed at her.
"I'm your mommy I know for a fact that you need to stay with me. I know what's best for you!" She scolded, coming closer. "No, you know what's best for yourself!" I yelled as tears started to well in my eyes.

"Whatever you can stay here I'm going to stay with Georgia." She grumbled, turning away from me. "Fine! It's not like you're ever here for me anyways." I mumbled the last part to myself. She left the house and slammed the door behind her. I ran upstairs sobbing, not even caring if the door was still unlocked.

I threw myself into my bed and screamed into my pillow. "I hate my fucking life!" After a while of screaming I heard a notification from my phone. I ignored it at first but they just kept on coming in. After a bit I gave in and slid my phone out of my pocket. It was Solar.

Solar: hi Luz I hope you don't mind but do you know what's been up with Alissa?
Me: what you talking about?
Solar: it's just you both kinda went missing from school for about a month and no one knows why
Me: well we couldn't really go to school while we were on court leave
Solar:you were in court!?
I stared at my phone screen for a few moments.

Me:I thought you knew
Solar: it's obvious I didn't
Solar: hold up I'm going to call Alissa
Me: Solar wait!
She didn't respond.
I just messed up.
