E M I L I A -

Tom hasn't spoken to me in twelve days - that's two days from fourteen days, and fourteen days is equivalent to two weeks. Almost two weeks without a touch of comfort, a source of warmth. Almost two weeks of five hours maximum of sleep and bleary eyes. Twelve days, almost two weeks of absolute misery.

He wakes up, makes me breakfast and leaves before I wake. I only sleep when my eyes close without my permission, in my office. I tried to sleep in the same bed with Tom but he left as soon as I inched over to the bed, and ever since then I've slept on the couch in my office; I don't like rejection. Not to mention, Kale's been sending me letters again. My mother's mate has been acting up in his prison. The killing of she-wolves who own businesses has gone up again and getting Alpha's attention all across the world. I don't have time to not be imperious.

Imperious is my favorite word. When I first heard it, it was used in the given definition of arrogance, but my definition of imperious is a bit more complex.

For me, to be imperious is to rise above all chaos, all catastrophe surrounding you and be smart, disciplined and orderly. I, as an Alpha and as a mate, need to be prepared for every little thing that could possibly go wrong and to prepare is to have a back up plan and another backup plan for every single backup plan. To be imperious is to win.

Alpha,

The deaths of she-wolves has increased: it's not four she-wolves killed per month now. Last week it was twenty and this week we've found fifteen dead she-wolves already. Wolves in packs are leaving their mates and joining another pack that is unknown. It's getting attention as well. Alphas are beginning to take extra precaution.

A rebellion has started and I'll be keeping you posted about who could possibly be leading this. You are somehow tied to the rebellion, but I do not know how. I do know, however, that every pack in the United States has been hit, apart from yours and I'm sure it's not coincidental. I'm positive it's someone your mother or past Alphas have known. Also, deceased Alpha Emily's mate has been acting up lately in his prison.

Glad to be of service, Alpha Emilia.

Kale.

It has something to do with me? That can't be possible, surely it can't. These two years have been peaceful. My mom and my grandmother made many enemies in their time of ruling, but it would be foolish to strike now and hurt every pack but mine. It's personal with a hint of something else. It's crazy that somehow everything that happens to me has something to do with my mother.

I would be foolish to deny the fact that my pack is the only pack that hasn't been tainted with this rebellion. I'm not a feared Alpha, I'm not cruel or wicked, so why me? Why not my pack? Kale is right that there is a connection and with every connection, there has to be a witness. And what better witness than my mothers alive mate?

My mom did command me to keep him alive, because he would be useful. Thinking of it now, it seems as if she knew her death was coming. When someone's dying, they don't think about stuff like that, but she commanded, pleaded with me.

Her exact words were, "You will love him as I did mine, but do not kill mine; lock him away instead, as he will be a valuable prisoner. Do not underestimate him, because he couldn't be my mate and be stupid." We were discussing my mate - oh, the irony.
