Solas' P.O.V
The Inquisitor walked in, her hips swaying as she walked. I rose from my seat at the desk to greet her.
"Inquisitor." Our eyes locked.
"Solas. About the artefact, how do you know it's Elven?"
"I found it while searching ruins in The Fade previously. I didn't realise what it was until I saw Corypheus in Haven." I couldn't let her know the truth.
"Is there anything else I should know?"
I wanted to say so much to her right then. But I couldn't.
"Come let's talk somewhere more comfortable"
I walked towards the door and she followed me
I took her to Haven while in The Fade, it was a cold and white as ever. We were by The Chantry. I turned and there she was. She was so close to me, I wanted to reach out to her and hold her in my arms. But I shouldn't. Also, it would be impolite.
"While you slept after you emerged from The Fade, I stayed by your side. I studied the mark, trying to figure it out. I travelled through The Fade trying to find anything I could about the mark."
"Solas... thank you." she smiled at me, and I couldn't help but stare as she looked so beautiful.
"When we were at the rift, when you put my hand in the rift, how did you know it wouldn't kill me?"
I'm glad she didn't die. I don't know what I would have done if she had.
"I didn't. But I hoped. And when I put your hand into the rift, I felt the world change."
"What did you feel, Solas?"
I blushed and looked away.
I felt her arm against mine when I looked back at her, her face right next to mine. She kissed me, a brief moment of pure happiness. She turned to walk away, and as her arm pulled away from me, I caught her and turned her to face me once again, and kissed her. Once I finally pulled away I looked at her, she was smiling and blushing, she looked beautiful.
"Solas..."
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that."
"Solas, don't worry, it's okay."
"Come, let's go back to Skyhold."
"We aren't actually here?"
"No, where did you think you were? This is The Fade."
"Oh. How do we go back?"
"Simple. You just have to wake up."
And she was gone. I left The Fade mere seconds behind her.
I woke up and had time to stand up before she came bursting through the door.
"About what happened.."
" I haven't forgotten."
"Neither have I."
"Please forgive me, Inquisitor, it was selfish of me, I shouldn't have done that." I looked down in shame and embarrassment. I am normally more free in The Fade and show more while there. I shouldn't have brought her there knowing this. I have ruined our relationship, it is now awkward. I should leave, maybe it will be better, especially because I'm -
She interrupted my train of thought with her musical voice.
"Solas, it's okay. I'm glad you did so. I'm willing to risk a relationship with you with everything that's happening of you are...?" She looked at me longingly for a short moment before she looked away, shy and self conscious.
"I... I don't know. I want to but I shouldn't. I'm not used to having such strong emotions towards people, let alone them back to me. I have to think about this." I was shocked. Someone cared for me. Someone wanted to be with me. I don't want to risk her being in danger because of who I am, but I do care for her. But if I stay with her, once everything is over, I will have to leave.
"Take all the time you need, Solas."
"Thank you."
She smiled at me before saying, "We'll talk later."
I smiled back
"Goodbye."
I watched her walk out the door, once the door clanged shut, I headed over to my desk. I sunk into my chair and hung my head in my hands. I wish I wasn't who I am, it would make this so much easier.
