Hiding In Shadows

Varric's P.O.V

When I saw The Inquisitor heading towards Solas I knew I had to get over there to find out what will happen. I have to know. I used my Rogue ability to hide in the shadows and walked in behind The Inquisitor. I only just made it inside before the door clanged shut. I quickly moved over to hide in the stairwell to the left of the room.

"Hello," Solas said as she stopped right in front of him.

"Have you reached a decision yet...?" She asked him, her eyes lit up with hope.

"Yes, I have. I am willing to risk it, no matter what happened I want to be with you. I love you, Vhennan." They smiled at each other before Solas embraced her. I find this to be quite adorable. I think they'd make a good couple.

"You are so beautiful." She blushed as she smiled and looked down after Solas complimented her.

Solas made the first move again, he kissed her. Their kiss was getting more and more intermit, I decided to look away, they deserve to have their private moment. They finally managed to pull themselves away from each other

"I love you Solas." Aww finally saying it.

"Ar lath ma, Vhennan." I could tell it was elvish, but didn't know what he said. I assume it was 'I love you' from the little make-out scene just now and from the fact The Inquisitor is now back to hugging him.

"We need to go to Emprise du Lion to check out what's on the other side of Judicael's crossing, now that Cullen's troops have rebuilt the bridge." She sighed.

"Could we possibly go later? I am quite enjoying this current situation and don't want to move," he asked her

"Unfortunately, no. Someone spotted dragons flying around the Rings, and as we are The Inquisition, we need to deal with the dragons. I as well do not want to move, you make a comfortable pillow Solas" He laughed quietly.

"Oh alright then. Let us prepare for battle then." He said, still amused.

"We'll speak later."

"Dareth Shiral," He said. I'm gonna go with that's 'goodbye' in elvish.

I watched her walk away ready to travel to Emprise du Lion. Once she was gone, I decided to go talk to Solas. He stopped suddenly in his tracks then took a few steps back. He had seen me, as I wanted. He didn't look too pleased that I was there.

"You are definitely a flirt, Solas." I just had to say it.

He frowned as he said, "How much did you hear?"

"Oh, just the whole thing."

He sighed. I don't think he wants me to know. As if it wasn't obvious there was something going on.

"Please, tell me only you will know about this?"

"Oh of course. Just when someone else catches you it's not my fault." I chuckled and started to walk away

"At least I could get the girl I love, unlike you." That's it.

"You know why I couldn't get her. Her family married her off to some guy and now they are in Orlais. Haven't really had the chance to go and take her on a date, have I? If her family found out I ever saw her, they'd sent assassins after me, again. And if the Merchants Guild found out, that would be even worse. So don't go around saying shit like that when you know that wasn't my fault I couldn't get her." I yelled. I moved closer with each word. Once I had finished, he took a step back.

"I am sorry, I know what happened. I don't know what came over me, I'm sorry that was very impolite and cruel of me. Please, forgive me Varric."

I felt bad. I shouldn't have yelled at him, but he should know better than to say something like that. It was strange, he's normally so polite. I guess me knowing about him and The Inquisition set him off, he did say he didn't want people to know.

"Ughhh.... it's fine. Good luck with The Inquisitor." I turned and walked out the door, feeling bad about my reaction, but also happy for Solas and Inquisitor Lavellan.

I saw The Inquisitor come out from the undercroft, and smiled. She saw and came over to talk to me.

"Hey, Varric."

"So.." I decided to not bring Solas up. "find anything out about the Red Templars?"

"Leliana's scouts discovered their location in Emprise du Lion, going there today to get rid of them, want to come?"

"Gives me an excuse to shoot people with Bianca so sure. I'll come."

"Okay, we leave shortly, be ready."

"I always am." she walked away to get ready, as did I.
