Chapter 5|A change of air
I am here and you there,
It's not fair.
Life far away from Karan had turned out to be amazing for her. It had been two months she came to Delhi and started living with her brother. It was another home for her since she had a kind sister-in-law, Shikha and a little nephew, Vivaan to brighten her day.
She surely missed her parents but she was safe here.
In the beginning, she was scared of somehow getting caught by him. She used to be doubtful while walking to her new college, thinking as if Karan or his friends might be following her.
The paranoia had reached to a level where she had changed her contact number. Even for calling her parents, she would use her brother's phone. The life-changing experience of that relationship with Karan had made her so terrified that she had pledged to stay away from boys.
But having two new girlfriends had made it easy for her to look like a normal student rather than a loner.
After two months, Preeta was finally able to forget about him and had started living like she used to before she had met him. Because that was the only way to move on with her life.
Still she knew that no matter how hard she had tried, she would never be able to overcome the fear that he had settled in her heart.
It would always be there.

"Kabir, have you brought the information?"
Mahesh Luthra stared at the best friend of his only son. But unlike him who got his post in the company because of his DNA, Kabir had worked hard to fill meaning to himself handling the post of a departmental manager.
He was desperate to know about the girl who had been able to affect his son so much. Since the day they had found Karan unconscious in the hospital, the environment had turned dull. His son was heartbroken and living like a widower.
He could observe the pain in his eyes and understood that he was suffering due to her absence. Mahesh Luthra was torn at lifting up the spirits of him and searching for this girl who ruined him.
Moreover, Kabir had recently informed him that she had left Chandigarh; also that Karan had gone to her parents' home but it turned out meaningless when they denied him to even mention about her. Stubbornly, they threatened him that they would accept the death rather than telling her location.
Mahesh Luthra was relieved that his short-tempered son hadn't harmed the couple. He really cared for her and family, he had concluded.
From past days, he and his wife stopped mentioning the girl and tried to silence the subject to lighten things. They did a great job at not provoking Karan to think about her as they had understood that he needed space to get over her.
"Yes, Sir. I have collected all the information," said Kabir while observing the worry on the man's face and why won't he be?
Preeta's love had made his son crazy. Since last week, they had been observing Karan's behavior towards his subordinates turning harsh. Though, Kabir could see the loneliness in his eyes-- the pain reflecting on his face.
That girl was really something who had been able to tame The Karan Luthra. No girl had ever refused him before. When they were in high school, girls used to be crazy for Karan. He had looks, charms and wealth but for this girl, he had more in package.
His love.
Being his closest, Kabir knew that it was in nature to be stubborn and dominant. But Preeta could have just thought about it for the long run. She had the most eligible bachelor coming her way. He even tried to hook him up with other girls but Karan had scared them away by scolding them. He wasn't the player anymore.
