Chapter Thirty - Bonus Chapter

A few weeks later

I sat in the cushiony grey seat at the airport, my earplugs pressed in my ears playing and my foot lightly tapped the ground in time to the magical beat.

My blue eyes searched the view outside, in hope of seeing the Qantas plane land. My wish was granted as it came zooming out of nowhere, a small smile spreads across my tired face… I was finally going to see my friends again, after almost a month.

I patiently wait, though excitement burns through me like a fire. Faces slowly start to emerge and I desperately search the crowd.

I recognized none of the faces until I noticed a short blonde girl beaming at me, my smile broadens as I walk towards her, and the boy next to her.

I scan them both, looking them up and down thoroughly, they both seemed to be in good shape, but I’m going to lie, I had been worrying about Kade ever since I left.

“Hey Rose,” says Sophia before embracing me into a tight hug.

“Hey,” I reply, but it is muffled by her hug.

We finally let go of our embrace and I turn to face Kade. Without a word he runs at me and hold me in a bear hug.

I whisper “I’ve missed you,” in his ear, causing him to hold me tighter and leave me fighting for oxygen.

I don’t know how long we were standing there just hugging each other but it must’ve been a while because Sophia started tapping her foot impatiently.

“Sorry,” I mutter as I slowly let go of Kade

We walk down the elevator to pick up Kade and Sophia’s luggage.

“So how have you been Rose?” asks Sophia

“Great thanks! Working hard though, you?” I reply

“I’ve been good,” Sophia replies, rather vaguely

Once we finish grabbing Kade and Sophia’s bags I take them out to my new red Audi Volkswagen.

“Nice ride, I guess that means you can drive now?” asks Kade

“Yeah! I got my licence last week,” I reply happily

I drive Kade and Sophia through Sydney until we finally get to my apartment.

The record company had payed for everything, my car, my apartment, everything. They also made sure I got the best of everything, so my apartment was like a penthouse, everything was so modern, and I just couldn’t wait to show Kade and Sophia.

We walk into my apartment and I watch as Kade and Sophia’s mouths fall open, gaping in amazement.

“It’s nice,” I smile

“More than nice! It’s amazing,” squeals Sophia

I laugh lightly at Sophia’s enthusiasm, glancing at Kade as he stares at the place in wonder.

“Shall I give you a tour?” I ask

“Yes!” Sophia shrieks enthusiastically

I take the through my whole apartment and by the end of the tour they are both in awe of the place.

“So do you like it?” I ask

“Yes of course we do!” says Sophia, grabbing Kade’s arm dramatically “Don’t we Kade?”

“What? Oh yeah its amazing,” smiles Kade, slightly dazed

We chill in the apartment for the rest of the afternoon. Sophia was intent on making sure my wardrobe was up to date with the latest trends, you would think I had been away for a year!
