2 years later

I sat in my chair, pondering memories despite the noise. I remembered the last time I’d been on a plane, with my two best friends, exchanging hugs and heartfelt goodbyes. A lot had changed, yet I was here again, sitting next to the same two friends that I had grown up with.

I’d had a blast in Sydney, even though it had been exhausting, writing, sending them off to my new manager, then singing them. It was a whirlwind of music and interviews, trying to get noticed, with an occasional sightseeing trip or shopping spree squeezed in.

My break had been when Ed invited me to do a cover with him. Obviously, I’d agreed. You don’t just turn an opportunity like that down. It had been scary, but he’s a really nice guy. Plus, I had a massive coffee that morning and I was completely high on caffeine, so I wasn’t as star struck, as you would expect.

After that, I had become more well known, going from three hundred followers to three hundred thousand in just a year. It was absolutely surreal.

And y’know what? I finally got my Niall follow. You’d think he would have followed me in the brief spell that we were friends, but I guess he isn’t the nice guy that the media portrays him at.

I can’t bring myself to hate him, but it annoys me when I see news reports and interviews, where he’s so cute and cuddly and kind. I know he’s not really like that.

I had become a success in Australia, and the response to my debut album had been amazing. Now it was time to move on, see how I go in bigger countries. If I became successful in London then next stop would be the big league, America.

I glance around at the blur of people, becoming aware of my surroundings. I smile at Kade and Sophia next to me and wave at a few of the fans, I loved the way there faces lit up at just the slightest interaction, they were the reason I was here in the first place

Kade was one of my back up dances and my boyfriend so we had both agreed he would come with me to London, we were hoping that I could do a few performances where he could do some dancing. It was really a great opportunity for him.

Sophia had an arts scholarship into a college here in London, so even though she wasn’t staying with us we would still see her quite often.

Finally we are able to board the plane, I grab my bag and head towards the check in, I hear the paparazzi start to get a bit more eager, I guess they new this was there last chance for photos.

I stand in line, behind an elderly lady with grey hair. I had been offered to fly on a private jet over to London but I had refused. It just didn’t seem right, I didn’t want to be considered better then anybody else, just because I was lucky and had met some amazing people.

I hand my ticket to the lady, she scans it and I walk through, leaving the clicking of cameras and shouts of paparazzi behind me. I climb onto the plane and take my seat in business class.

I was happy to fly economy but management insisted to at least take business class, Sophia was grateful, she had a fit when I told her I refused to fly on a private jet.

Kade and Sophia come and sit beside me, I watch them as they make themselves comfortable, this flight was a long flight and I knew it wasn’t going to be pleasant. At least there didn’t seem to be any screaming babies on board.

I place my headphones into my ears and sit back, I close my eyes and concentrate on taking slow deep breaths. It wasn’t that I didn’t like flights, I just felt a little jumpy today.

The first flight goes well, I spend most of my time watching movies and reading magazines. I was very flattered when I see a picture of me in one of Sophia’s girly teenage magazines.
