Chapter Four

Before getting ready, I called Sophia to tell her the good news. I balanced on one foot, waving the other in the air to let the nail varnish dry as I tucked the phone between my ear and shoulder and rifled through my messy wardrobe.

“Sophia!” I chimed excitedly. She simply chuckled.

“Hey Rose, what’s got you all excited?” she asked, and I could hear the amusement in her voice. I felt like pouting, but this was no time to mess around.

“You're not going to believe it! Long story short, I have managed to obtain VIP tickets, to none other than the One Direction concert. You may now bow down to me and call me Einstein.” I explained excitedly.

“Oh my gosh.” Sophia squealed. I leaned my ear away from the speaker to prevent her from defeaning me, which resulted in the phone clattering to the ground. I bit my lip, deciding whether or not my foot was ready for standing on. Ah, I took the risk and swooped down to pick it up.

“Hello?” I asked, wondering why she had stopped talking, "Are you okay?"

“I think my heart just stopped. But yeah, I'm okay,” Sophia replied, her voice slightly raw from the screaming she had been doing. I smiled.

"Well we need to be there half an hour early, so you better get ready toute de souite," I reprimanded, knowing how long she would take to assemble herself. Hell, I would take ages too. But I have a head start.

“I must go! My wardrobe calls on me..." she said, trailing off mysteriously and then hanging up. A strange one, she is.

With a toothbrush hanging out of my mouth, I jumped into my most comfortable skinny jeans, and awkwardly slipped on my worn one directione shirt. Deciding to do something about the brown mess I call my hair, I spritxed it with de-tangler and then arranged the smooth strands into a waterfall braid. It was simple.

But effective.

Ha.

I chuckled, before grabbing my keys and the tickets, along with my purse. I ran out of the room, only to backtrack and scoop up my phone too, shoving it into my pocket hastily.

I sneaked down the stairs, trying my hardest not to attract attention. It wasn't working, as I forgot not to step on that stair that always creaks and my mum looked up, her attention on me, rather than her engrossing word search.

“Now be careful” she started, and I winced, anticipating a lecture, "And behave yourself! Your curfew is at one!"

I nodded hastily, patting my stomach and moving onto more pressing matters.

"Yes, now can I have some food?"

 ...

Someone knocked sharply on the door, and I slipped into my shoes as I opened the door. Sophia's face greeted me, shining with barely contained excitement.

"Come on," she urged, grabbing my arm and dragging me outside.

"Bye mum!" I called, not wanting to leave without say goodbye. She popped up at the doorway, an amused smile gracing her lips.

"Go have fun!" she said, and maybe more, but I ever will know because at that moment Sophia slammed the door on my and then jumped into the drivers seat. We drove through the busy streets, which grew progressively more crowded as we neared the venue. I sighed in relied when we pulled into our space, my eyes instinctively searching for Kade's beautiful face.

Hold the phone.

Not beautiful, I scoffed. I really don't know what just happened.

"You ready?" Kade asked, a smile lighting up his features when he saw us. I grabbed his hand, adding him to the chain of people being dragged by an eager Sophia.
