Today is September first and like any good girlfriend, I'm currently getting dressed while waiting for the dinner I'm making for Jungkook to cook.
I text him to ask him when he'll be home but I don't get a response. I finish getting dressed and go back into the kitchen, patting Bam's head on the way. "Your daddy better actually come home on time."

I finish dinner and I keep the stove on low to keep it warm while I wait. An hour goes by and I still don't get a response from him so I resort to something I normally wouldn't, but I'm feeling a little desperate.
"Niko-ssi? I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound rude, but why are you calling me?"
I sigh "I'm really sorry to bother you Namjoon-ssi, I'm sure you are busy but I was wondering if you knew where Jungkook was? He was supposed to be home a little over an hour ago and he's not answering texts."
"Um I think he left with Jimin and Taehyung a few hours ago for dinner and drinks."
"Oh. Okay. I'm really sorry again for bothering you. Thank you."
"No problem. I'm sure he'll be home soon."
"Yeah, hopefully. Well thank you. Again. Have a good night. Oh and happy early birthday."
"Thank you. To you too. Jungkook said something about yours being this month too."
"Yeah, in two days."
"Oh that's actually kind of cool."
"Yeah. Well thank you." I hang up and then sigh and look over at Bam.
"I guess I wasted food and an outfit for nothing. Let's take you for your walk." I make sure the stove is turned off.
I grab his leash and he comes over and let's me hook it to his collar. We head outside and walk around the neighborhood a few times. Bam does his business and we head back. As we pass the parking spaces I notice that Jungkook's car still isn't in his spot and I sigh to myself.
We go back in the apartment and I change, leaving my outfit out so I can wear it to work tomorrow, but being slightly petty and leaving it next to Jungkook's present that I had to save up for, for a few weeks to get him. I eat some of what I made before doing my nightly routine and climbing in bed, watching Netflix on my laptop.
I try not to get upset, Jungkook gets to spend his birthday how he wants to. It's just frustrating to have made plans and have him not show up. It's not the first time it's happened and it won't be the last, but usually it's because of work and I can be a lot more understanding of that. He has control, but only to a certain extent. He can't fully dictate his schedule and he can't help that he's so popular and that his job is incredibly demanding because they are so popular.
Somtime around midnight I hear the door to the apartment open and close and some rustling before Jungkook stumbles into the bedroom "Hey sweetness."
