Chris, Leah, and Rick

Phil's POV

Dan and I fell asleep that night, and Dan was excited to not go back to that center ever again. I laughed and said he may have to go some time in the future, but I doubted it.

I woke up, and laying on top of my stomach was a little curled up Dan, resting his arms and head on me. I chuckled, and petted his head until he woke up.

He yawned, letting out a small, high pitched noise, and then licked his lips. "Kitten, you've gotta get up." I shook him, and he meowed slightly. "I don't wanna." he said, half asleep. "I know, but can you at least get of of me so I can go to work." I asked. He got off of me, crawling over to a pillow at the end of the messed up bed from not being made in at least a month or two.

He fell asleep again, and I rolled my eyes, chuckling slightly at him.

I got up and got dressed before I grabbed my phone. By then, Dan was awake, calmly watching me shuffle around the room as I got ready to go. Once I was finished, I walked to the end of the bed, and pulled Dan's hair back.

I kissed his forehead and said, "I love you. I'll see you later." "I love you too. Be careful at work today." "Ok, I will." I smiled, and waved to him as I left, and he waved back.

On the short drive there I started thinking to myself, Dan really needs a phone. What if something happens to him and he needs to call me? Well, I guess I'll get him one after tomorrow. I get my paycheck tomorrow, so I can pay for one after that. He'll be fine until then.

I got to work, and PJ was no where to be seen. "Peej?" I called through the center, but there wasn't an answer. I brushed it off, thinking he was in his car getting something.

I made the rounds, feeding all the Nekos, and making a list of ones that needed to be bathed today.

But making that list also kind of put me in a sadder mood than normal. Usually, every Friday, PJ and I would feed the Nekos, and then as we did so, we would make a list of Nekos that needed to be bathed. The catch is, Chris would always bathe them. Well, not the Nekos like Dan, but that's beside the point.

I miss Chris, however, every time I remember what he did to Dan, I couldn't care less about him.

That's when I suddenly heard his voice, "Phil?" I jumped out I my skin, and spun around, setting the list down on the front counter. "C-Chris?" I stuttered in shock. "I'm here to adopt." he said, chin up and chest out. He looked pretty intimidating, honestly.

"A-Adopt?" I was so confused, happy, angry and shocked, I wouldn't be surprised if I fell over right here, right now over my own feet. "Yes, adopt. Leah and Rick." He said in a 'duh' tone.

My eyes went wide and I stated, "I don't know if I can do that." "By law you have to. Now give me the stupid papers to fill out." I shook my head at myself slightly, and quickly scrambled to get him the forms.

"Thank you." he said blankly as he took them from me, and pulled a pen out of his pocket. I can tell he had been planing this, but for how long?

He sat in one of the chairs, silently and comfortably filling out the papers. When he was done, only five minutes later, he gave them to me. I didn't even look at the paper to know he had fills it out correctly, he knew every question by heart and knew exactly how to answer them. "Follow me." I said sadly.

I led him down the hallway, shoulders slumped. I knew he was mad, and he was planning revenge on Peej and I. I wish I knew what he was doing though... whatever it is, it involves Leah and Rick though. He couldn't be doing something to Dan could he?

Leah and Rick where teamed up with Chris at the end of the day, and they left, all three of them, with giant grins on their faces. I could almost see the red in their stupid eyes, and I kicked the counter angrily.

I had to go get Dan.

I drove home as quickly as possible, and ran to our flat. When I got there, to my relief Dan was at the counter in the kitchen, making himself dinner. A frozen pizza to be exact.

I ran up to him and wrapped my arms around him tightly. "Dan, I missed you." I was so relieved nothing happened to him. "I missed you too. What's wrong? You're thirty minutes early." he said, looking to the clock, then back at me as I let him go. I decided not to tell him, seeing as it would scare the crap out of his adorable self, and I know he wouldn't be able to sleep that night too.

"Nothing. I just wanted to see my little kitten." I quickly covered, but it technically wasn't even a lie. "Whatever, you weirdo." he laughed, and kissed my cheek. I pecked his lips back, and helped him finish making the dinner.

Later, when we were lying in bed together, we began talking. "So, are you liking this place?" I asked. He nodded, head laying on my chest. "Yeah, it's really nice, and I haven't met anyone mean so far." He replied, eyes closed. "Who all did you meet?" "Well, there was a nice gentleman with a weird stubble stash and sunglasses with long spiky hair. He said he was looking for you, and I said you weren't home. He said he's come back later, but he never did." "Hm... ok...?" I didn't know how to respond to what he said. "Well, I think the day after tomorrow I'm going to get you a phone so you can call me when I'm at work if anything happens." "Ok." he yawned, not really listening, and nearly fell asleep.

"I love you." I whispered, pecking the top of his ear. He smiled and whispered, "I love you too." Before he fell asleep, and I soon followed.
