Phil's POV
"Ok, um, Dan, please, just listen. And even if you don't want to, there's no where you can run." I pointed as soon as we were alone. "Ok." he said quietly, protectively holding Hiro close to him.
"The night you were taken, I wanted to save you, I really did, but I couldn't because I was drugged. When Chris was sat on my stomach, he held a dirty rag to my face and I couldn't move. I watched you be taken from me," my voice cracked and my eyes started to weld up. "I want to protect you and fight back but I didn't, only because I couldn't. As soon as I woke up, Peej and I called the police. I almost didn't shower eat or sleep entirely because you were gone. I'm sorry, please forgive me."
By now I was crying, and close to sobbing. I covered my face in my hands and just cried while Dan didn't say anything.
"I'm sorry." I choked once more. I felt a hand gently drag my arms away from my face, and looked up. Dan already had tears in his eyes and his lips were trembling.
"I'm sorry too. I didn't know that-that you had been..." he started to cry as I began to stop. "I was just so angry and scared I didn't know what else to think." His vice was high and squeaky. "It's ok. I forgive you." I smiled at him hopefully. "I forgive you too," he said before he started to ramble. "I'm so sorry I jumped to conclusions and I wish I had known because if I did than everything would be ok and I-" I shut him up by pressing my lips against his. He sighed into the kiss, and smiled slightly.
When we pulled apart I just smiled. We stared into each other's eyes before a small cry interrupted us. We both looked down to see Hiro crying.
"When did he last eat?" I asked, looking bak at Dan. "I don't know. It's been more than twenty four hours." Dan replied, looking up at me like I did him. "Here, let me see him. I'll get him some food quickly." I said, opening my arms. Dan put his arms out slightly, then coiled them back in. "Please be careful." he said, eyes full of nervousness. "I will. This isn't he first time I've handled a baby Neko." I smiled reassuringly. He kissed Hiro's for head before finally handing him to me. "Lets go little one." I rocked him in my arms, and he calmed down slightly.
"Stay in here, I'll be right back." I smiled at Dan, beginning to walk towards the hallway. "No!" He suddenly yelled, "Please, can I come?" "Of course." I smiled, and pecked his cheek.
We walked down to the end of the hall where there was a cross section. We turned left, and stopped at the first door. I opened it, and in two of the cribs was another baby Neko male named Miko, and a baby girl who is nearly six months old named Anya.
There were two cribs unoccupied, one blue and one pink. I laid Hiro down in the blue crib quickly, and made my way over to the mini fridge and cabinets on the other side of the large room. Dan stood by the crib, keeping an eye one Hiro as he began to cry again.
I got out some plain milk, and a little bit of formula before putting it in a bottle. "Here we go." I said allowed, pleased with what I did in a short amount of time.
I walked back to the crib, and pulled Hiro out. "Go sit over there." I nodded towards a large brown chair in the corner of the room. "Um...ok." he said, obviously curious to what I was about to do. "I'm going to have you feed him." I answered his unasked question. he nodded knowingly and plopped down in the chair that was about twice his size.
"Here." I quickly gave him the bottle, and then walked to the crib and picked up a, still crying, baby Hiro. I handed him to Dan, and Dan held his head up and everything, seeming to already know what to do. He gently brought the bottle to Hiro's head, and Hiro instantly latched onto it, sucking the life out of the bottle.
As Hiro drank his milk, I also fed Miko and Anya before turing back to Dan.
When I looked over, Hiro had finished drinking, and Dan was smiling, looking down at him. "He... he kinda looks like you." Dan said, seeming confused. "I know, it's weird. Do you really not know who the other parent is?" I asked, offering to take Hiro. "No, I don't," he handed Hiro to me carefully. "I wish I did though." "We can take a blood test and see." I offered, lying Hiro in his crib again. "Ok, but we should let him sleep." he stood up, and walked over to me. "Good idea." I smiled, leaning down and passionately kissing him.
We left a short while after that, and I dropped Dan off back in room '09 that we still haven't cleaned up since Dan left.
"Wait, I can't have Hiro?" Dan realized just before I left. I frowned slightly, "No, I'm sorry. it's against the rules." Dan instantly slouched down, sad, "But he's my son. Why can't I have him." "Because it's against isn't the rules. Don't worry, though, you can have him in the morning." "Ok..." he said sadly. "But I want him." "I know, the first night with your baby is always the best and worse, but I promise he'll be safe, and we'll get a blood test taken in the morning." I smiled. He nodded.
I kissed his forehead, "I love you." "I love you too. he replied, sitting up and pecked me on the lips.
"You'll see me first thing in the morning." I assured, walking out. He smiled sadly, and then nodded before climbing into his bed.
I walked home smiling. I hate getting into arguments, much more arguments with my boyfriend. I hate even more that he got mad at me, but I was happy he was ok. I was happy he was safe.
Though one thing that drove me crazy was the question, "Who is Hiro's other parent?"
