Phil's POV

I took Dan's hand, and we walked to my car. I gently lead him in, and he sat quietly. I climbed in the car beside him, and buckled my seatbelt. "Have you ever been in a car?" I asked him. "Not really, except for when we were in the van." "Well, here." I reached over an buckled Dan in. "This keeps me safe?" He asked. "Yep!" I cheered, deciding to not tell him about the slim possibility of a car crash. I but the keys in the car, and started it. Dan jumped a mile in the air, and frantically looked around.

"Dan, kitten, it's ok. That's just the car." I chuckled "It's so loud." He complained, and I just laughed at his cuteness.

It only took a couple minutes before we made it to my apartment building. I lead Dan through the lobby, in the elevator, and then ini the house, making sure to lock the door behind us.

"Woah." Dan said in amazement. "What?" I laughed, looking around. "I-I just haven't been in an actual house, or apartment, in...forever." I laughed, and wrapped an arm around his waist, "Let me give you a tour."

I showed Dan around the flat, and eventually I decided to make dinner. We microwaved some tv dinners, and sat in the lounge in my multi colored chairs.

"So, you're gonna fire Chris?" Dan asked. I replied, "Yeah, I mean, after something like that, all lines are drawn. You're fired, and are never to be let back." "So, I'll never see him again?" Dan asked excitedly. "Well, I don't know for sure. There's always a chance you know?" "Yeah, I get it." he took another bite before we threw the containers away and decided it was time for bed.

"Here, you can wear these." I tossed him a pair of my boxers, digging through my wardrobe. "Ok." he said happily, and swiftly took his clothes off and replaced them with my boxers that proved to be much larger than his pea-sized waist. I chuckled at how cute he looked in Sonic boxers, and put on my Cookie Monster pajamas and a loose purple and blue shirt.

"What's the plan for tomorrow?" Dan asked as I stood up from my bed to turn off the light. "Well, first breakfast, then we'll go back to the rescue center and you, PJ, and I will figure out what to do about you and Chris." I replied simply, hugging Dan's cold body. "You're warm." he snuggled his ears into my neck, and I flinched back slightly. "That tickled." I laughed, letting go of him.

I reached to turn the light off when Dan stopped me. "Please, um, n-not yet..." he said quietly. "Why not?" I asked, taking my hand down slowly. "Because I'm-I'm..." he went quiet. I put the puzzle pieces together and chuckled, "Danny, you're so adorable. You don't have to be scared of the dark." "I know, but, I just am." "Dan, I'll protect you, ok?" "Ok. Just please, I know it sounds stupid, but I just get so scared and in the dark I just imagine all these demons and stuff and I-" I stopped his rambling and pressed his lips against mine once again. He gasped with shock, and then melted under my touch. I pulled away slowly, and opened my eyes. He did the same, and giggled at himself for being so worried.

I turned the light off, and Dan winced. "Shh, kitten," I gently cooed, taking him in my arms. "It's ok. I'm right here. I'll protect you." He nodded, snuggling against me, and I lead him over to the bed.

I laid down, and he followed suit as he slid under the duvet. I wrapped my arms around his cold body, and rested my cheek between his two ears. He purred into my chest, and snuggled further into me, relaxing.

"I love you." I whispered, kissing his forehead, and he blushed. "I love you too." he replied before we both fell asleep.
