tonight is my last night working at vibrato before my maternity leave. i wanted to stay a while longer but chile, these ankles said hell no. so i told mel that and we agreed i could do one last song. my belly is quite out there now, i be peeing way more than i usually do. these lil heffas gotta come out now!
right now im in my dressing room getting ready. im just putting on a tight white sundress and sandals for tonight. im not doing my makeup, only lashes and lipliner for this look.
a knock was heard from my door, "im dressed who is it?" i asked.
"hey its mel, whats your song for tonight?"
"city of stars, you know from that movie?"
"oh yeah ive heard of it. ill let the band know, get ready for your cue." he told me, closing the door. "ok but wait, can you make sure there's a water out there for me? thank you." he nodded his head and left out.
i did my vocal warm ups and ankle exercises. i swear i might just go out there with socks on. i sat down and toyed with my hair until i heard my cue. when i did i took deep breaths on my way up to the stage.
"i cant add that sway no more yall." i laughed lightly. "girl you still sexy." i heard someone yell. i turned to them and it was billie ass. we made eye contact and smiled. as i was getting ready to go up the stairs of the stage billie damn near ran to me.
she took my hand and helped me up to the stage. yall know how lil wayne did nicki at that one award show? thats exactly what she did. thats why my standards are always going to be chilling side by side with god forreal.
"she so extra yall. but i love her and imma stick beside her. i remember a date she took me on. we were stargazing but all we saw were the lights on airplanes beeping." i laughed causing the crowd to do so as well.
"i wish i lived in a city of stars." i cued for the band to start.

"city of stars, are you shining just for me? city of stars. theres so much that i cant see, who knows?" i softly sang, but i still managed to lose my breath a bit. "i felt it from the first embrace i shared with you." when i finished i let out a breath.
"my bad yall. whew." i opened my water and took a sip.
"take ya time babygirl." someone in the crowd yelled.
"that now our dreams may finally come true." i looked over to see billie singing with a smile. she started to walk towards the stage, "city of stars, just one thing everybody wants. there in the bars and through the smokescreen of the crowded restaurants." she giggled at my shocked face.
