🎆Chapter Eight 🎆

Doing my daily every other day because that's life now which I've not complained about. Standing behind the counter making drinks for the customers because it was a little rush hour but luckily I have some help from Amber. It's been a week since me and the boys are planning about the condos, things to do, and some other things. Brennen offered to give us a free vacation and be in the first class, (except for food, drinks, etc).

I told him that he doesn't have to but, of course, he assisted because he want us to have a great time and have a good night's sleep without those tiny bump beds. I am also so excited because tomorrow is the day we're leaving but I need to talk to Amber if she and her girlfriend could go with us. I also need to need to be talked to a good friend of mine if she could watch the dogs for me.

Rather have someone that I could trust to take care of my fur babies other than put them in doggie daycare. Just in case some dogs were very mean, I just don't want to risk that. Besides, I can trust her cause she seems like an animal lover. I remember, she told me that she's a dog sitter since she loves them and needs some money. If she did a good job l, then I'll have to pay her a good amount of money. Depends if my dog is happy and healthy.

I handed a drink to a waitress and she waited for a few drinks that I made for her table before she walked away. Speaking of which, I need to ask her while I can before I forget again. I can be inquired about her whenever we're not busy or else our boss will be suspicious because she's very serious about her business. I also told my boss that I will be out of town for a while and I asked her if I take a week and a half off. She said, yes but next time I have to ask her sooner rather than later.

My boss wasn't mean or disrespectful. She's just very scripted about her business, making her costumer's happy and well-served. This is understandable because... business is business. She's very cool from the outside of work since she told me that I'm one best and most hard-working employees she has ever known. But right, she's in her office doing some paperwork and she will be out in a little while. But since she was in the office, I need to Amber about our vacation plans.

After we make all of the customers have their drinks. Saw Amber walking toward me and putting the order in, so I can make them. I'm the only bartender but thanks to Amber who trained me how to make drinks and do it by myself whenever we're busy. It's very challenging but I'm up for it. "Hey, Amber!! Do you know how much I love you!!" I smile cheekily.

"What do you need Colby." She giggled as she knows whenever I need something because of the nickname that I gave her. No, I don't like her like that at all. I mean she's a great girl and all but I really like Sam more and I always choose him. That's how my and Amber's friendship is; nice and playful. Don't worry, Sam has improved our friendship.

I continued making drinks for everyone's order before I could continue. "So, me and our friends were thinking about, tomorrow why not have our vacation on Brennen's cruise for a week."

"I don't know Colby. Need to request off a month early but it's too late."

"Well..." My voice is high-pitched for dragging the words.

"Well, what." Amber crossed her arms while her eyebrow lifted as she looked at me sternly. She knows that I'm "hiding something" from my pitched voice.

"I may or may not have told our boss about the vacation plans and you're coming with you." I said slowly before she could- "ow!!" I laughed as I rubbed my arm.

"You could have told me earlier, Colby!! And you deserve that punch." She said as she was laughing.

"Fair enough." Shrugging handed her a drink and start continuing to make them. "Come on, it will be a great opportunity. You're girlfriend, Xepher is more than welcome to come with us."

"Need to ask her when I get home if she's busy next week." She added. "I'll let you know before tonight. And send me some details."

"Sure do." I smiled.

I told her that I need to speak to our friend, so I can ask her if she could look after my fur babies. She nodded after she walked away with the fresh drinks that I made, so she can go back to her table because she has a new customer. A girl who loves to talk and mess around can be a little serious about her job because it pays very well.

Anyways, I walked back to my section and waited for a girl who usually came to my counter for me. So I can make a couple of drinks for her table. But luckily she came back, just in time before she could go back to her work. She has black hair but one side is bleached blond her hair is tied up into a ponytail.

"Hey, Stas," I said politely. "Can I talk to you for a moment?"

"Sure but make it quick because I have some tables and I don't want them to make them wait." She gave me a note about what the customers wanted, I start making drinks as I continued talking to her.

"Well, tomorrow I and my friends are having a vacation for a week. So I was wondering if you could stay at my appointment, so you can watch my dogs while I'm gone?" I said as hopefully.

"That's weird." She furrowed her eyebrows. She notices that I glanced at her weirdly. "My former boss told me that I could watch his dog, while he's checking on the cruise ship business."

"Oh, you know Brennen Taylor?"

"Yeah. He used to be my boss whenever I work with him for the summer before I transfer here and spent time with my boyfriend and my little sister." She said. "How do you know him, if you don't mind asking?"

"Nah, it's alright." I handed her all the drinks that I made for her table before I could continue talking. I told her that Brennen and I went way back before we moved here. Because I'm from Kansas, and they are from California, L.A. When I traveled around the world and they were finding different places for a fresh start. Somehow we found each other and became very good friends.

Stas nodded after finishing telling her the story and she said she completely understands. "Well, if you guys know each other, maybe I can help you and Mr. Tay- I mean, Brennen, that I could watch both of your dogs."

"Did he give you a key to his place?" I asked as furrowed my eyebrows in curiosity.

She nodded while she smiled. "I do. He told me that I could stay there until he came back."

"If you don't want to swing back and forth between mine and his place, you could bring my dogs to his apartment. Because they have met each other before. I can make you a list of everything for a few details about my dogs.

"Ok, that's completely fine." She said before she walks away with a couple of drinks that I gave her. And give her a spare key whenever she needs it for my dogs, just in case.

Hopefully, I think it's going to be a fine giveaway for all of us because it's our first vacation in one big group. Including my lovely Sam...
