🎇Chapter Seven🎇

I was sitting on the couch in Jake's and Brennen's penthouse in Luxury Condos Downtown. I watch my two dogs playing with Kobe (Brennen's dog), seems like they're having a great time. Foxy has been a little bit rough on them a couple of times because she doesn't realize how big she is. So, I have no choice but to be a Dad mode; I have to get on to her and tell her 'easy' for being too rough.

Foxy hasn't been around with smaller dogs other than Koki. But she hasn't played much because she's getting a little bit old and she gets tired very quickly. As for Foxy, she's still a little puppy but I think she understands that her sister is a little bit old. I had them when I was very younger but when I traveled around the world, I asked my uncle if he could look out for them.

When I settled in one place and decided to live here. I asked my uncle if he could send my dogs to the airport and I can pick them up from there. Luckily, he said yes because he knows that those dogs are mine. But it's very nice when he's helping me to take care of them whenever I was working. We have been texted once in a while for checking on me and to see how am I doing.

"Hey, we should do something together," I told them.

"What are you thinking about?" Brennen asked me when he sat down next to me while the couple is sitting on the loveseat.

"Was thinking about, we should get away for this weekend. We should invite all of our friends and should spend time on the cruise. So, you can check how the business is. Later, we can all hang out together."

"Yeah, dude. I'm in." Brennen nodded while his hands are resting on Jake's thighs that are relaxing on his boyfriend's lap. "Who are we inviting?"

Honestly, I was in the mood for a getaway for a while because I want an adventure. Sharing an experience with a special someone, so we have more time together. I may or may not have a few special plans with Sam but it's a secret if he agreed to come with us.

Maybe, this trip might be good for us. After everything that happened to us, and how hard we have to work on our jobs and make our own business; I think we deserve a little vacation. Clearing our minds, spending time with our new friends, and taking a break from being adults for once. Let out of our younger selves for a little while.

"Amber and her girlfriend should come with us!" Jake requested. "Colby, if you have work. Can you ask her if she is free next week? So, I can tell Sam and the girls?"

"Yeah, I can do it." I smiled. "I need to ask one of my co-workers if she could watch my dogs anyways. If she doesn't, I can send them to doggie daycare."

"Sounds, good." Jake smiled brightly as he looked down while he was holding Brennen's hand but still resting on his lap.

I spaced out by glancing at the dogs, just laying down next to each other. Hanging out as their panting for worn out by running around and playfully jumping on each other. Honestly, I knew that leaving my fur babies for a week would be hard because I just got them. I'm sure they would have a great time on their vacation.

"Are you ok, man?" Kevin said calmly while looking at me. "You seemed a little bit quiet than you already are."

"Yeah, I'm being distracted," I said as I snapped out of it.

"Oh. That's just him for daydreaming for..." he paused."Sam." Brennen sang as he sighed. I swear that bastard is getting on my nerves and I want to-

"Oooo. Our little Colby got a boy?" Kevin teased. "Because I remember that he was sitting on you're lap because either you're making his date jealous or there's not enough room."

"Ok, 1. Shane is not Sam's date. They're just friends who tagged along for reunited from high school. And 2, Sam is just showing me that he likes me, not that guy." I defending myself. "Although, he did get jealous by glaring at Sam and clenching his jaw." I laughed.

Kevin laughed loudly. I swear his laugh is so contagious. After all, it's so funny because it fit his personality very well.

Brennen replied with a smirk. "He looks like he wants to punch in the face for stealing his man." He put air quotes when he said 'his man'.

I told him that I didn't punch him in the face for glaring at Sam because I knew violence isn't the answer. I also knew that Sam wouldn't accept me as a violent partner. I want him to think of me as a better person, like a (kinda) mature adult. I want to show him that I can treat him better than he can. Have no idea what he did to Sam but I would never be like him.

Going on that trip would be the best for clearing our minds and staying away from the drama. Kinda hoping that Shane is not invited or else the trip would be a disaster. Either way, I'm not letting him take Sam away from me because I heard that Tara told me that he wouldn't treat him very well back in their high school days.

But I'll make sure that it won't happen anytime soon.
