Colby's POV

I walked into the house of a friend of mine who invited me and Brennen for a New Year's Eve party. At first, I didn't want to go because I don't have a date, but Brennen is the type of person that you can't say 'no... So, I don't have a choice.

I turn on my phone, avoiding the loudspeakers in my ears. Looking through my Instagram story, I saw some of my friends hanging out with their families and some at a party. I'm not exactly popular, only a few hundred followers but I don't mind.

I put my phone in my pocket. I looked around in the crowd as my fingers ran through my brown hair, waiting for my best friend and his boyfriend. To be honest, I'm not surprised because Brennen is always fashionably late. Whenever we have an event or a simple hangout; he told me, he could wait outside or by the door but he always forgets. Sometimes he did it on purpose because he knows that I'm annoyed.

But he's my best friend and I have to deal with his bullshit because he's fun to hang out with. I honestly don't know how his boyfriend put up with him but I guess he is used to it. Because they had been together for years. We met at a random club back in California about 2 or 3 years ago, somehow we all became friends but we moved here to Miami for a fresh start.

Anyway, enough for the past. Brennen thinks going to this party is celebrating my 21st birthday and New Year at the same time because it's a special occasion. I start walking trying not to push or shove everyone as they hold their drinks while they wait for the clock to strike 12.

Honestly, I'm in the mood for a mixed drink. Why not celebrate my birthday a little bit early as I'm waiting for the boys to decide to come and find me? I know that they're a couple and waiting for some alone time which I understand. I'm not the type of friend who keeps away from their happiness.

As I walking I noticed there was a picture and it said, 'BAR TABLE' written in huge words. I think Kevin wants everyone to know that there's a bar table because he wants to make everything clear. I walked up to the table filled with different types of alcohol and hundreds (if not, thousands) of plastic red cups. There are also a couple of champions in the tub of ice to keep them cold for the New Year.

I took a cup and decided to make myself a mixed drink. I took a bottle of vodka, poured it into my cup and I did the same thing for the pineapple juice. I blended it all with straw making sure it mixed well. Brennen may have taught me a thing or two because I wanted to be a bartender but I'm not 21 yet. Don't drink until you're legally aged, kids.

I took a sip of my drink for a taste test. Honestly, I think I did alright but I need to practice a little more. But I have plenty of time to become a bartender because I'm still my in early 20s, no point in rushing. I feel a tap on my shoulder making me turn around and see my best friend and his boyfriend. Fin-

"Dude!! There you. I told you to wait for me at the front door!!" He yelled at me because the music was so loud from the speakers.

"Well, you ditch me," I said, struggling with my shoulder. "So, I got bored and made myself a drink." I smiled innocently at the end of the sentence.

"If I had a dollar for every time you're being a smartass, I'd be rich." He said in sarcasm.

I roll my eyes as I continue to sip my drink while I look around at the people who are dancing, making out, and passing out because of how drunk they are. "So. Where have you two been, anyways."I said once I glanced at Brennen.

"There's an amazing view from upstairs in the bedroom. You should come and check it out."

"Wait- why are you guys in the bedroom?" I furrow my eyebrows and look at him confused.
