A/N: Hopefully this will be a long chapter. Sorry it took so long to update. I've been so busy lately.
I woke up with a jolt. Someone was banging on the door. It was about 12:30. Who would be up this late? Curfew is 10:30. Emma looked startled and confused. I opened the door and Hunter was standing there in Spiderman pajamas.
"Guys! Come on! You're not going to believe it!" he exclaimed. We followed him to his room and Will was sitting at his desk with his back to us. We could hear a lot of scribbling. I looked around and there were candy bars, chips, and a video game console sitting on their beds. How did those get there? Hunter met my eyes with excitement. You'll see, he replied. Suddenly a stuffed animal appeared in Emma's hand. She yelped. Will turned around in his chair with a grin on his face.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I Will Edwards have discovered my Gift," he announced. Hunter immediately began clapping. Emma's jaw dropped because with her logical thinking, she probably put the pieces together on what it was. But I on the other hand, was clueless.
"Wait. I'm confused. What is it?" I asked.
"How about I show you," Will said. Emma nodded and jumped up and down. He took a piece of paper and drew a pair of boots. Then the picture disappeared and the same pair of boots actually appeared next to me. I was stunned. Whatever he draws appears in physical form. They laughed at the expression on my face.
"Ever since I was a baby, I've always had a talent of drawing. As I grew older I got really good. But I never thought it would lead to this," Will said motioning to the all the things he drew. "I guess anything can happen."
As I laid back in my bed that night, I thought, everyone's receiving their Gifts except me. Before you know it Emma will have her Gift and so will the rest of the first years and I will be the only one left. Maybe there's something wrong with me, I thought in horror. That was my last thought before I drifted off to sleep.
When I woke up from my dreamless sleep, Emma was already dressed and ready, sitting at the foot of my bed. "First day!" she chirped, "Since we're roomies we have the same schedule and our first class is Gift Control. We have to go to the cafeteria early so we can have a healthy, nutritious breakfast consisting of toast, scrambled eggs, an apple, and a glass of milk. So come on rise and shine!" I groaned and got out of bed. I went to the bathroom and then got dressed. Emma was impatiently waiting by the door.
"You took way too long," she said. I yawned.
"I only took five minutes," I replied.
"Five minutes is too much considering the limited time we have." I glanced at the clock. It's 8:10. Twenty minutes before breakfast even begins. When we arrived at the cafeteria, we were the first ones there. All the tables had platters piled with food.
"What did I tell you? The early bird gets the worm," Emma said motioning to all the food. We chose a table and sat down. Emma began immediately placing all the foods on her "nutritious and healthy" breakfast list. Meanwhile, my plate consisted of bacon and toast. I'm one of those people who eats a burger with only the meat and the bun. By the time everyone started arriving in the cafeteria, I was almost finished and Emma was finished. One of the first girls to get a room, Suzanne Garfield sat at our table.
"Do you know how unhealthy that is? Like, seriously toast and bacon. How are you even going to get your energy? I like her food choices," Sue said pointing at Emma's plate. By this time Emma's face was the color of a cherry.
"HEY! I would highly appreciate it if you would leave because frankly, your presence is ruining my appetite. And also, leave Aspen alone. She can eat whatever she likes. It's not like it will hurt you. She's never even spoken to you and this is how you make a first impression. You disgust me," Emma spat. Just seeing the bewildered look on Suzanne's face made me burst into laughter. Emma just looked at me as if I had gone insane. Suzanne huffed and sauntered away as if she were the queen.
"We definitely need to stay away from her," I said.
"Totally." Emma looked at the clock hanging off the wall and screamed. Heads turned in our direction but she didn't notice.
"Class starts in ten minutes! We have to go!" she exclaimed dragging me away from the cafeteria. We had to go back to our room to get our supplies for our first class, Gift Control with Professor Nunes. I grabbed my Hippoplum bag which had my textbook called Oh no! I've received my Gift and I don't know what to do! by Johanna Johansen, my room key, and a notebook. Hey Aspen. Where's your first class at? I jumped. I always forget we can do that. Gift Control, I replied. Oh we have Celestial History. Well see you later. Then he stopped talking.
A/N: HAHAHAHA IM LAUGHING SO HARD WHEN I WAS WRITING THE BREAKFAST SCENE I SCROLLED DOWN AND THEN THERE WAS AN AD OF JIM CARREY HOLDING FOOD AND IT SAID WAKE UP TO EGGS AND BACON. Coincidence. I think not. Well anyways this is somewhat longer then the previous chapter, but I hope you enjoyed it. Comment and vote!
