20 years later

"You have to make sure you mount the hippo correctly or you're just gonna fall off like your mother did the first time she tried it," Hunter was explaining to Lynn and Dylan, our five year old twins. I smiled at the thought of Dylan possibly becoming the next Hippal coach at Hippoplum just like his father. You could already see his talent. Lynn was just like me. Just someone who probably shouldn't join the Hippal team when she gets older.

"Well you can't expect them to get it right the first time!" Will shouted from next to me.

"Yeah well how are you and your girlfriend doing? Oh wait. YOU DON'T HAVE ONE!" Hunter shot back. They are never going to grow up.

"As Headmaster Edwards, I have the full authority to fire you from your position as 'Hippal Coach' and then where would you be."

"Hey! I thought we agreed not to use that against me," Hunter whined. An idiot. I married an idiot. Lynn was watching with wide eyes comprehending everything they were saying. She's very bright. Brighter than most. She can understand a lot. She gets that from spending so much time with "Uncle Will" in his office at Hippoplum while Dylan is out on the Hippal field with Hunter.

And me? I spend my time trying to find lost Celestials that don't know a place like Hippoplum to go to. Mrs. Elmer and I worked together a couple years back to create a care center called Lynn's Hippos or LH for short. I finally figured out how to make the most of Lynn's death. Mrs. Elmer and I fly around the country looking for little Celestials that don't have homes or are not accepted by their parents and they come live in the care center where Mrs. Elmer takes care of them full time while I come in for a while every day to say hi.

Those Celestials all know that when they turn thirteen, they'll be going to Hippoplum and they're all so excited. We already have one going in their first year next year. In fact, it's Mr. and Mrs. Elmer's daughter, Mia. It's a big transition for everyone since that means my family won't be seeing her that much since we're all very close.

I look up from my thought to see a purple ball coming straight at my face. It smacked me and I fell to the ground. Dylan comes running towards me and says, "Mommy I threw the Plum! I threw the Plum!"

"Dylan. It was not very nice to throw that at me," I say sternly.

"But Daddy told me to do it," he said looking at the ground. I glance at Hunter who was smirking but when he sees me looking he puts on a straight face.

"But Aspen. Lynn told me to do it," he said hiding a smile. I look at Lynn who was very surprised and confused.

"What!" she screamed. "No I didn't! That's the wrong choice to make. Daddy has to go stand in the corner for making a bad choice." Then Lynn grabbed Hunter's hand and dragged him to the corner of the wall and made him stand there and face it. I laughed. Lynn was way to serious for a five year old. I knew she was spending too much time around Will because yesterday I caught her eating pizza with a fork.

Twenty years ago I had to worry about minor things like saving the existence of Celestials. Now? Now I have to make sure Lynn and Dylan don't turn out like these two idiots in front of me.
