"hi I'm Saoirse,
I just got this journal from a caretaker here at the orphanage so I can "sort out my thoughts", apparently I'm too rowdy for them. I guess I do get in fights quite often but it's not my fault the other kids are so damn annoying. I'm not sure what I should write in this, maybe just random stuff about me, idk. I'm pretty short, around 5'4, I'm 15 and I have curly dark brown hair and blue eyes. I'm also as pale as a fucking ghosts ass thanks to my being Irish. Right now I'm waiting to be sent to another home. I hate waiting. I hate that the system thinks I have to have a new "family", I'm perfectly fine on my own."

Saoirse straightened his back and looked out the window in his room, he closed the journal in his hand and sat it next to him. He sighed, he knew spring was coming to end and a new season was beginning. He didn't want to spend it in boredom again.

He lied back and huffed, but, then there was a knock at his door.

Saoirse got up and opened the door with a curious look.

"Hello?" He said, peeking out.

"Let me in, I have something for you!" His friend Emma said, standing in the hallway.

Saoirse looked at her with a smile and let her in.

"You know you're not supposed to be here Em," He stated with his thick accent. "This is the 'boy's only' part of the orphanage."

"I know, I brought you something though." She said with a pout.

Emma was a short girl, standing at about 4'11, she had light blonde hair with dark accents, darker green eyes, and very pale skin.

Saoirse looked at Emma's hands and saw a piece of paper.

"What is that?" He asked.

"It's a letter one of the nannies gave me," she hands it to him. "She asked me to give it to you."

Saoirse hummed in confusion and took the letter from her.

The letter read, "Dear Mr. Kemp we'd like to inform you that you will be housed in a temporary home for about 4 months. There is another child there so you won't be lonely. You will be sent off in about two weeks."

Saoirse's eye's widened with excitement and nervousness. He wasn't sure what to say. He didn't want to leave, but he wanted to go also.

"So.. what's it say?" Emma asked with a bit of worry in her voice.

Saoirse looked back up at her, "um... i'm going to a new home in two weeks, gross"

"Oh! Well, I think you're gonna be fine. If you're in the same area still, you can visit me!" She replied with optimism seeping throughout her voice.

Saoirse nodded, he wasn't so sure about it. He's been in other homes before, but, he'd only been in them for a month at a time. He's never spent over 4 months in one home, it was weird to him.

"what's the worst that could happen?"
