I was laying on my bed hovering over the infamous message box. I was seriously contemplating on whether I should message the cutie also known as 'Stay Away from my Friend's. What's stopping me, the worst that can really happen is that he doesn't answer. Or, he does answer and we talk for months on and we fall in love then, the whole time he was cat fishing me and he's really a 60-year old lady. Nah.
"Kellin." My mom's voice calls from behind me. Jesus, I really need to learn how to lock that door.
"Yes mother." I respond annoyed. I roll my eyes before shutting my laptop and turning around to face her.
"Dinner's ready." She said.
My mom and I don't really have the best relationship. It's not like something dramatic has happened to us that fucked things up, we were just never really close. I was always closer to my dad, that is until I realized how much of an ass face he is.
"I'm not hungry." I shrug.
"Oh, please come down and eat, you've been cooped up in here since you got home." She pleaded.
"I have a lot of homework to do." I lied. Well, I really did have homework, I just wasn't going to do it.
"Well then you can take a break." She said then walked over to me and grabbed my hand. She obviously wasn't taking no for an answer. I huffed but let her lead us both downstairs.
"Look who decided to join us." She chirped to my dad when we reached the table. I didn't decide to come down here, I was more forced-I wanted to tell me, but that would require talking which I really don't want to do.
I sat on one length of the table whilst Mom and Dad sat at the ends. For a second I felt like I was six again and we were actually a normal functioning family again.
I look down at the plate that Mom has served me, she made some type of pasta. Very fattening.
"What's wrong?" She asked me when she saw that I wasn't eating but rather just looking at the food.
"Uh, nothing." I lied.
"Well then eat up." She smiled.
"Yeah, you need to bulk up a tad for soccer, you're getting a little.." My dad started.
"Skinny?" I finished.
"Kind of." He said. I couldn't help but smile a little. That's probably one of the nicest things that has came out of his mouth lately. He used to always bug on about my body image, calling me fat all the time. I get he was trying to motivate me, but god damn man, you really contributed to me being such a fuck up. So him saying I was skinny was actually nice, considering that that's what I want.
"Wait, so you found out I made the team?"
"Yeah, the school sent an email." He said. So much for not wanting to talk during this dinner.
While I forced myself to consume these threatening noodles, my parents were pestering me with annoying questions. None of which were too serious, so I would simply answer with a nod.
"So Kellin, do you have a girlfriend now?" I nearly laughed in their faces. If only they knew I only take dick up my ass.
"Yeah, because you guys aren't constantly bothering me when I'm so much as 10 minutes late to get home. Seriously, when would I even have time to be with them. Oh, when I sneak them into my room-which is on the second floor." I lashed out on them. They're so strick on me, how would I ever be able to maintain a proper relationship.
"Hey, watch your tone." My dad warned.
"Whatever." I responded so done with this stupid idea of my mom trying to make us out be the perfect family, she's always wanted. I throw my napkin on the table for dramatic sense before storming out of the dining room and back to my safe sanctuary.
