It has been one full day of trying to get some things done.

And Alex couldn't help but to feel slightly disappointed at how little he had done for the case. He honestly started to question himself if he's suitable to bring justice for the girls. What if the Minister and his uncle was wrong about him?

All the cases that he ever solved before were just some noob level if compares to this. He would be lying if he never wish to solve heavier cases other than finding out about cheating partners, lost belongings and treasure huntings, but this-- This case really bring him to his knees. Making him realized how much of a beginner he actually is.

And worst of all,

In just one and a half day, he has made all the big mistakes that could make Sherlock Holmes rolling in his grave. Fortunately, he was a fictitious.

Sighs.

Putting his hoodie over his shirt, Alex then took his wands and shoved it into the back pocket of his jeans before leaving the dorm for dinner. He took a longer time for shower as he was trying to wash away the feeling of disappointment and tiredness he felt after everything that happen earlier.

But it seems to still be lingering around in his heart.

Alex knew he shouldn't let his emotion get the best of him but he really wanted to do his best and help his uncle with everything he got. Giving himself a soft patted on both of his cheeks, he let out another sighs. "You got this, Alex.." he whispered and finally leaving the room.

While walking towards the Great Hall, Alex saw one of the potential victims that he has listed earlier.

Denise J. Hamilton.

Alex himself wasn't really surprise when he saw her portfolio when he was jotting down notes. The first time he saw her, she instantly reminds him of the late Imelda.

Beautiful, brainiac, soft-spoken--

Just the type that could make anyone to fall in love with. Alex would trying to flirt with her if he hadn't join the program for work, but yeah. unfortunately he has work to do. But it all sounded like an excuse if he thought back his interaction with Hermione.

Nah, she's different.

Well, she is also in his list. But she's different. Not sure how, but he doesn't feel like he mind having special interaction with her. It's making his veela side excited but he has yet to figure out the cause. Though he might have the idea, but he know that he can't jump to conclusion without a proper evidence per se.

Shaking his thought away from Hermione, he quickened his pace so he could match with Denise.

"Hey!" Alex said, as soon as he was walking side by side with her.

Without stopping on her pace, Denise looked up from the book she's been reading and drew a smile over her pinkish lips, "Hey-- Evcans, right?"

Alex smiles, "You remembered,"

Giggling, Denise closed the book in her hands and hugged it over her chest, "Of course I do. You're hard one to forget,"

"Hmm, in a good way I hope?"

She only smiles in returned.

"So-- uh, huh, What were you reading?"

Denise looked at him skeptically, slightly narrowing her eyes at Alex, "I didn't take you as the talkative types," said she.

Alex arched his brows at that. She probably referring to their first meeting. He remembered that he let Hermione doing all the talking about the suspicious letter. The wizard scratched his neck awkwardly, "Eh, haha--- I guess, I've made quite a bad first impression, didn't I?"
