Dungeon Hallway
It was pretty quiet in the hallway.
Alex wonder if his uncle partner and the team has already arrived at the crime scene or they probably hiding behind some kind of spells.
"Oi, you shouldn't be walking around ere' at this hour, lad!"
Alex halted on his pace at the voice owner who were jogging towards him. He was wearing a student robes but Alex pretty sure that he never seen his face in the records he has gotten from the Headmistress previously.
He may be bad with names but he surely have the best cognitive memories. Furrowing his brows at the person, Alex said, "You and I both, mate."
The guy eyed his just as suspicious as he does. "And what's that s'ppose t' mean yea?" he guarded up, with his hand reach under his robe. Alex guessed that he probably reaching for his wand and wonder if this wizard is one of the guy from the team.
"Finny, he's with me." A familiar voice said. The guy named Finny relaxed on his stance, while Alex looked around for the voice owner but he was nowhere to be found.
Then a hand appear in this air, gesturing Alex to come forward, "Come in, Alex. I've been expecting you, hehe."
Alex took a breath and gave a small nods to Finny before going towards the hand.
"Welcome to Hell," said a wizard around Dorian's age, with his arms open wide in a very welcoming manners. The moustache on his lips spread evenly, following the line of his wide grins.
Alex couldn't help but to chuckles at his ridiculous greetings, "Hello to you too, uncle Harlow. It's been ages,"
Harlow Lincoln, a muggle-born wizard who has been Dorian's partner since they were even just starting to join the investigation department. Harlow too, has been sharing a thing or two about how muggle detective work in real-life and little by little, has teaching Alex about muggle item which they called 'technologies'.
Harlow enveloped the younger wizard in a hug, "Haha, well- honestly never have I ever imagine that I'd meet you under this kind of circumstances," said he, giving Alex some pat on his back before letting him go.
Alex thought same. "I heard from uncle that this may be your last?"
"Haha, yeah. Actually," Harlow scratched his neck, slightly awkward, "There was another case that should have been my last, but I got intrigued when I heard about a victim actually being found alive, so-- I guess, part of me still with this one, heh," he chuckles dismissively.
Alex nods. He understood that well. His uncle and Harlow already work on this case for years, so it wasn't surprising if he decided to go through with the case despite of having decision to retire from it earlier. As a detective, unsolved case is definitely something that is tattooed in one's heart for the rest of their life. "I get that feeling," is all he said.
Harlow smiles appreciatively, "Anyway, let's get back to business shall we?"
Alex nodded.
"So, before you came in, we found manage to found something interesting,"
"What is?"
Harlow smirks and gesture Alex to follow him. The two of them walked to a pool of blood that is slowly drying on the floor. The putrid smell still lingers. Alex covers his nose with his hand as they both crouches down. He steal a quick glance around them and notices that two wizard were looking hella uncomfortable as they were scaling the area nearby. One of them even seems to look like trying hard not to vomit.
"I guess the victim were hella terrified of the killer that we found some excretion along with her blood." Harlow remarked.
At the remark, Alex felt his chest clenched as he remembers the state when he found Vanessa. It was definitely some sight that he rather not remembering. He wonder, how in the world did the perp able to convince the poor witch to meet them in the middle of the night in an empty hallway as this?
