Your POV

"Where's Flowey...?" You suddenly feel something on your head and look up.

"... I'm right here, you nimrod..." Flowey peers over your head.

You fall back, surprised. You hit the back of your head- hard- on the headboard-on the corner as well if it wasn't enough-, and everything goes black.

WHAT DO YOU TWO THINK?

I write it down and address my two assistants, Sans and Alphys. Sans can understand me well enough, but Alphys isn't confident enough in her Wingdings, so I gave her a few moments to translate it- I can speak English, but rarely do it. They both stare intently at the empty soul vessel.

"well, it can work. all it needs is a trait and body to pair it with." Sans pipes up. Alphys nods in agreement.

"Y-Yeah, Sans is r-right. B-because we c-created it out of a stronger, c-concentrated form o-of magic, the vessel s-should be able to possess more than only one t-trait. A-although, i-if the vessel i-isn't protected, i-it wouldn't be a-able to m-maintain its form and co-collapse." I smile at her.

This was the reason I chose her as my second assistant, after all. She and Sans are nearly equally matched in IQ, though Sans scored a bit higher than Alphys. They are both the most intelligent monsters in the Underground- aside from me, of course. (I mean, I AM The Royal Scientist, so it's only natural.) Papyrus wanted to come of course, but I had him stay home for the day. After all, going to a lab eight hours a day, seven days a week, isn't healthy for a six-year-old.

Meanwhile, Sans and Alphys were both sixteen and graduated college with flying colors, being the youngest monsters to ever graduate. It was natural to pick Sans and Alphys. Sans was my son- and was smarter than all the dimwit- I mean employees in the lab combined, while Alphys was a prodigy in quantum physics.

"As always, Alphys, you surprise me with your knowledge." I have Sans translate it for her. Alphys turns a pink hue.

That was the one time everything was right... when everything was going perfectly...

"Dr. Gaster!" Another one of my employees burst into the room, speaking in Wingdings. As the Royal Scientist, I made it a requirement for employees to be able to fluently speak, read, AND write in the language- because I'm generous, interns only need to be fluent in reading and speaking. Although because of her immense knowledge of physics, Alphys is an exception- though she did know how to write, speak and read Wingdings, she's not completely fluent.

"Yes?" He looked desperate, so I acknowledge him.

"W-We have a problem..." The employee gestured for me to follow. I encase the soul vessel from earlier in green magic before taking it in my hands and following him.

"S-so, we were operating the CORE as you asked, and it said it was having a malfunction and that it would self-destruct...!" I groan.

"Leave the room."

"B-but..."

"LEAVE! I'll be fine." I glare at the employee, who pales and runs away.

Now let's see... This isn't the first time this happened, so it's probably the same problem as before-
