"We'll find the gate and Will"

Normally this early on a Saturday morning, i would be sleeping. But today im at Wills funeral, throwing a rose on top of his coffin. After the funeral ends, we go find mr. Clarke. We're gonna ask him about travelling dimensions.
"Mr clarke?" Mike asks. "Oh, hey. How are you guys holding up?" He asks. "We're in mourning" lucas says with a monatone voice. "We were wondering if you had tike to talk?" Mike asks. "We have some questions" lucas says. "A lot of questions" i add on.
We go sit down and mike asks "so you know how in Cosmos, Carl sagan talks about other dimensions?" "Yeah. Theoretically" Mr clarke says. "Yeah, so theoretically how do we travel there?" Lucas asks. "You guys have been thinking about Hugh Everett many-world interpretation havent you?" Mr clarke asks. "Well, basically there are parellel universes. Just like our world, but just infinite variations of it. Which means theres a world out there where none of this tragic stuff ever happened" mr clarke says.
"Yeah, thats not what we're talking about" lucas says. "We were thinking more,..of an evil dimension like the Vale of Shadows" dustin says. "An echo of material plane, where necrotic and shadow magic-" "yeah, exactly. If that did exist like the Vale of Shadows, how would we travel there?" Mike asks.
Mr clarke grabs his plate and starts explaining. "Picture an acrobat standing on a tightrope. Now, the tightrope is our dimension. And our dimension has rules. You can move forwards or backwards. But what if, right next to our acrobat, is a flea? Now the flea can also travel back and forth like the acrobat. Heres where things get really interesting. The flea can also travel everywhere around the rope" he says.
"So in this metaphor we're the acrobat?" I ask. He nods. "So we cant go upside down?" Lucas asks. "Well, youd have to create a massive amount of energy. More than humans are currently capable of creating, mind you, to open up some kind of tear in time and space, and then, you create a doorway" mr clarke explains.
"Like a gate?" Dustin questions. "Sure. Like a gate" he replies. "So if someone found the gate would they be able to go through?" I ask. "They should be" mr clarke nods. "But again this is all-" "theoretical" lucas finishes.
We finish eating and go to mikes house to explain this to el. After mike explains everything mr. Clarke said to her he asks "and thats how it has to be, because how else would Will get there right?" "Right" el replies. "Do you know where the gate is?" Lucas asks. El shakes her head no. "Then how do you know about the upside down?" He asks angrily.
El looks at dustin who is walking around holding a compass. "Dustin what are you doing?" Mike asks. "Why do you have a compass?" I question. "Dustin? Dustin! Dustin dustin dustin dustin" me and mike say. He finally looks up and says "i need to see all your compasses"
I grab the one out of my pocket and set it on the table. Pretty soon, theres about 7 of them sitting on the table. "Whats exciting about this?" Mike asks. "Well theyre all facing north right?" Dustin asks. "Yeah, so?" Lucas questions. "Well, thats not true north" dustin declares. "What?" I ask. "Exactly what i said, thats not true north" dustin says. We all give him confused looks.
"Are you three seriously this dense?" Dustin asks annoyedly. Lucas shrugs his shoulders. "The sun rises in the east and sets in the west right? Which means thats true north" dustin says whike pointing around. "So the compasses are broken" i say while nodding. "Do you even know how a compass works?" Dustin sighs.
"There drawn by the magnetic pull of the earth" dustin says. "So whats wrong with them?" Lucas asks. "Well, thats what i couldnt figure out but then i remembered. You can change the direction of a compass with a magnet. If theres the presence of a more powerful magnetic field, the needle deflects to that power. And then i remembered what mr clarke said. The gate would have so much power" dustin says. "It could disrupt the electromagnet field" mike finishes.
"Meaning if we follow the compasses north-" lucas starts. "We'll find the gate and Will" i finish. "Lets get packed" mike says.
