"Meredith Grey?" The nurse announced

"Yes" Meredith stood up, her hands linked with Derek's, Carolyn following them as they made their way inside

They had chosen for another hospital so Ellis wouldn't find out even if Carolyn worked at Seattle Grace as well and it would have been their best choice

"Undress everything below your stomach, the doctor will be here in a bit" The nurse smiled and handed her a gown

Derek helped Meredith change and onto the table while Carolyn was turning her back to them so Meredith would feel comfortable enough for the meantime

"What if something's wrong with our baby?" Meredith whimpered

"Then we'll find out how we can solve that problem" He rubbed her arm

"I'm sure your baby will be okay" Carolyn fixed Meredith's hair and held the teen girl's hand in her own

"Goodmorning, Meredith. Are you the father?" The doctor asked Derek and he proudly nodded "And grandma?" The doctor asked with a smile

"Yes" Carolyn proudly smiled

"Meredith, do you know how far along you are?" The doctor asked

"3 months, maybe 4?" Meredith told her

"Let's take a look, we might be able to see the gender. Do you wanna find out today?"

"Der?" Meredith looked up at him

"I'd like that" He smiled

"Me too" Meredith breathed and then turned back to the doctor "Yes please"

"Okay, here we go. Watch out, this might be cold" The doctor said as she poured some gel onto Meredith's stomach and started the examination

"Congrats, it's a girl" The doctor smiled

"Oh-" Meredith gasped

"Mer, it's a girl" Derek laughed and kissed her head

"Congratulations" Carolyn kissed both of their heads

"Is everything okay? Is she healthy?" Meredith immediately asked

"For now everything looks very okay" The doctor smiled "Here are her legs, this is her head" The doctor explained even if all three of them could read an ultrasound

"Thanks. Could we maybe have some pictures?" Derek asked

"Of course. I'll go print them now" The doctor smiled and left. Carolyn left the room as well and Derek helped Meredith get dressed, her small bump slightly noticeable on her slender figure

"She's okay" Meredith smiled "I can't believe we're getting a girl"

"A mini Mer" Derek laughed and kissed Meredith's lips "Amelia will be very happy" Derek linked hands with Meredith and walked her outside where his mom was waiting

"Are you two ready to head home? The doctor asked me to hand you these" Carolyn handed them the pictures and Meredith grabbed it

The whole ride home she was stroking her fingers over the pictures as she was thinking about the little baby girl in her belly

"Meredith, would you like to stop for ice cream?" Carolyn asked

"Oh-" Meredith gasped. She wanted ice cream, she was craving it but she tried to save her money for her baby. She would have to pay hospital bills and for her education even if her mother had made sure there was just enough money for that, she wanted to give her daughter everything she'd need "No thank you" Meredith quietly said

"Are you sure?" Carolyn frowned

"Yeah" Meredith shakily breathed

"Are you okay?" Derek asked her

"Of course" She looked outside the window

"Meredith, are you coming home with us tonight?" Carolyn then asked and saw in the mirror that she was doubting what she would say "You can if you want to" Carolyn smiled

"Are you sure?" Meredith asked

"Of course, honey. You can always stay with us if you want to" Carolyn smiled

"Thanks. I do have to go home really quick then to pick up some stuff" Meredith quietly said

"I'll come with you" Derek immediately said

"Derek, I'm 17. I can deal with my mother" She sighed

"I know, I just don't want you to go by yourself" Derek kissed her head

Meredith and Derek were in the car on their way to Meredith's house when he decided to ask again about the ice cream

"You know.. It's just financial" She admitted

"We have ice cream at home, I think you and baby both deserve some" Derek squeezed her hand

"Thanks" She giggled but immediately sighed afterwards as Derek parked his car in front of her mother's house and she saw her mother's car

"Maybe you should grab some more clothes so you can stay longer if you'd want to stay a bit longer" Derek got out of the car

"Would you mind waiting here?" Meredith quietly asked, being scared that her mother would see him

"Can you be careful?" He frowned "Don't forget about our little bean, just go outside if she acts up" Derek kissed her forehead and watched her walk inside

"Finally! Where have you been?" Ellis started screaming

"I've been staying with Derek-" Meredith quietly explained

"At least I didn't have to see your face so you couldn't remind me of how big of a disappointment you are" She snarted

"I'm sorry" Meredith said and picked at her skin and walked upstairs where she started packing some stuff

"What's going on?" Ellis asked as she opened the door

"Just grabbing some stuff" Meredith answered

"No. That!" Ellis pointed at Meredith's body "Since when?"

"W-What do you m-mean?" Meredith asked

"Get out of my house! And grab all your stuff and take it with you!" Ellis screamed

"Mom?" Meredith whimpered "Please.."

"Leave. My. House." Ellis grabbed stuff out of Meredith's closet and threw it out the window "Don't you ever freaking dare to come back, Meredith!"

Meredith nodded her head, grabbed a few of her most important things and quickly ran down the stairs and out of the house

"What the hell?" Derek frowned as he picked up Meredith's clothes and threw them in the car

"We need to leave" Meredith said and collected the last pieces of clothes and quickly got in
