"Derek- Not that fast" Meredith sighed as she held her hand onto her stomach

"Mer, come on! We need to get you to the hospital" Derek said with impatience hearable in his voice

"Derek" She chuckled "We have time, okay? Let's wait until your mom is here, then we can all go together and hopefully by tonight our little girl will be here" Meredith chuckled

"I have your bag!" Amelia came running towards them

"Mer!" Derek sighed

"Let me check if I have everything" Meredith started checking the bag

"We have everything, let's go" Derek tried

"Stop!" Meredith yelled and checked the bag twice, she was scared she'd forget something

Carolyn and Mark entered the house a few minutes later and saw what was happening

"Hi sweetie, how are you feeling?" Carolyn walked towards Meredith who was obsessively checking if they had everything

"I'm okay. We just need to make sure we have everything-" Meredith grabbed her jacket

"Mer, we got everything" Derek pulled her in his arms "Let's go to the car, it's okay" Derek grabbed Meredith's hand

"Keep us updated!" Mark said to his mom

"I will. Make sure to not eat chips the whole evening, please" Carolyn laughed

"We won't, mommy" Amelia giggled "My baby niece is gonna get born, my baby niece is gonna get born" Amelia smiled and jumped up and down

"Yes Amy" Derek smiled "We'll call you later" He promised

"Awww" Meredith groaned as a contraction ripped through her body

"Mom-" Derek breathed as he hated seeing his girlfriend in pain

"We're almost at the hospital, guys" Carolyn smiled "You got this, Meredith" Carolyn assured her and parked the car "Do you think you can walk inside or should I get you a wheelchair?"

"I'll be fine" Meredith nodded and Derek helped her out of the car, his arm wrapped around her waist as he led her inside the hospital

"You'll be meeting your daughter in a few hours" Carolyn smiled

"I can't wait" Meredith breathed as her hand rubbed over her stomach

"Then we can finally start spoiling her" Derek smiled and wrapped his hand over Meredith's

"Oh shush, as if that baby isn't spoiled yet" Carolyn laughed

"Hmm" Meredith groaned as another contraction ripped through her body

"We're almost there, sweetheart" Carolyn rubbed Meredith's back softly and walked further

They got Meredith checked in and their OB came checking on them, Meredith wanted an epidural so they got that done

"A little bit longer and we'll be able to bring her to earth" Doctor Robbins smiled before walking out

"I'll go grab some coffee" Carolyn smiled and wanted to give them some time for themselves

"Hi little one. Mommy and I can't wait to meet you" Derek smiled as he laid his head on top of Meredith's stomach

"I can't believe she's really coming today" Meredith smiled as she held onto Derek's hand

"You will be spoiled rotten" Derek chuckled and kissed Meredith's lips "Are you feeling okay?"

"Yeah. That epidural is doing its job" Meredith smiled and kept rubbing her stomach

"Good. That's very good" Derek smiled "Do you need anything else?"

"You" Meredith smiled "I love you, Der"

"I love you too" Derek kissed her forehead "I can't believe what has happened these past months"

"Me neither" Meredith quietly said

"I'm so happy that I have you. I couldn't live without you, Mer" Derek kissed her head again and Meredith patted the bed, signaling she wanted him to hold her

...

"Okay Meredith, a few more pushes" Doctor Robbins instructed

Meredith did as she was asked. She kept pushing every time the doctor said she had to do so

"It's okay. You got this" Derek stroke his hand over Meredith's head

Carolyn was with them, luckily she had experience as a nurse and kept holding a wet washcloth on Meredith's forehead

"You're doing wonderful, honey" Carolyn said

"I'm tired" Meredith whispered as she leaned into Derek's touch

"You're almost there, sweetie. Almost" Dr Robbins smiled "One more push"

"Aahhh" Meredith groaned

"She's here" Dr Robbins announced

"Oh.. Oh" Meredith panted

"Daddy, can you come and cut the cord?" The doctor announced and Derek did as he was asked before they placed the baby on Meredith's chest "Meet your little girl"

"Hi" Meredith whispered as tears spilled down her cheeks

"Hey little one. You are beautiful" Derek smiled

"Hi" Carolyn smiled as she brushed her hand over the baby's back

"Mom, meet Ella Carolyn Shepherd" Derek smiled

"Oh guys" Carolyn whispered and couldn't hold her tears at bay

"She's perfect" Meredith smiled before they took the baby to check her out

Meredith was laying down with the baby in her arms the next morning. Mark and Amy would stop by to meet their little niece

"Are you okay?" Derek asked as he was scared Meredith would be in discomfort

"I'm perfectly fine" Meredith chuckled "Sit down, Ella and I want some cuddles"

"Really?" He smirked and kissed Meredith's lips before moving to kiss Ella's forehead

"But you need to be calm and quiet, Amy" They heard Carolyn say

"I promise!" Amelia giggled

"Let's get in" Mark smiled and walked in as first "Congratulations guys" He smiled and pulled Derek in a hug and softly kissed the top of Meredith's head "Hi little one, I'm your uncle Mark" He smiled at the baby

"Mark, Amy.. Meet Ella Carolyn Shepherd" Meredith smiled

"She's so small!" Amelia gasped

"Here, come sit on the bed" Derek helped his sister "You can stroke your finger over her hand if you want" Derek helped his sister

"I love her already" Amelia giggled

"We do too" Derek smiled and kissed Meredith's lips "Our little girl"
