"Okay Meredith, today we'll change your cast" Dr Torres walked inside

"Okay" Meredith quietly said but started to panic

"It's okay, honey" Carolyn whispered

"I think we'll have to put your hip into traction again, the cast is putting too much strain on it" Callie frowned

"That means I can't go home?" Meredith frowned

"Yes. We need to put it in traction for at least a week" Callie explained and Meredith seemed to get very nervous about this as she started picking at the skin on her fingers

"Mer, hey" Derek tried to distract her as he noticed her heart monitor readings were increasing rapidly

"Meredith, honey. Listen to me, everything will be okay. Derek and I are staying with you" Carolyn wrapped her arms around the girl

"Dr Torres?" Someone walked in which pushed Meredith over the edge. She started to have a full panic attack

"Page Dr Robbins!" Callie ordered and tried to help Meredith but Carolyn and Derek were doing what they could

"Hey, just think of us and our little bean. Our little girl" Derek whispered "I can imagine her running around the garden. Then we can take her to go camping, what do you think?" He asked as Meredith was completely frozen in his arms. He grabbed her hands and prevented her from hurting herself as she kept scratching her skin

"You're okay, honey. You're okay" Carolyn whispered

They stayed like that for a while until Meredith calmed down again. She noticed Arizona, her OB, was now in the room as well, checking on her baby

"Our girl?" She spoke up

"She's perfect. She's strong like her mommy" Arizona smiled

"Derek-" Meredith whispered "I wanna go home" She quietly spoke up

"I don't think-" Callie started speaking up but was stopped by Arizona

"We'll talk about it, sweetie" The blonde nodded "Your baby looks okay for now. We'll talk about the possibilities of letting you go home but you really need to rest a bit in the meantime" Arizona put the ultrasound away and covered Meredith's stomach with the blanket

"Thank you" Carolyn nodded at the blonde. They knew each other as Carolyn worked as a nurse on the PEDS ward

"My two girls" Carolyn heard her son whisper in Meredith's ear and watched as the girl fell asleep

"Derek? We'll need to start thinking what we'll do when we can bring her home" Carolyn sighed

"She can sleep in my bed, I'll sleep on a mattress on the floor, it doesn't matter" Derek quickly said

"What about physical therapy, hospital bills, the help she needs and many more" Carolyn sighed "I wanna help, Derek.. But-" Carolyn sighed, she already worked double shifts to be able to provide her family with food and all they'd need

"I'll work. No worries" Derek nodded his head "And Mark and I can help her if she needs to move around and Amelia will keep her entertained"

"We should bring her home as soon as possible, I don't want Ellis around her" Carolyn sighed

"Okay Meredith, does this feel okay?" Callie asked as she finished wrapping Meredith's hip with a stretchy bandage to make sure it would stay in the right position

"Yeah" Meredith breathed

"Let's go home then" Derek announced and lifted her into the wheelchair. He wheeled her to his mom's car and drove home

"Meredith!" They heard Amelia scream while Derek lifted Meredith out of the car into his arms

"Hi Amy" Meredith forced a smile as pain ripped through her leg and hips

"Wait, I'll help you to bed first" Derek carried her upstairs where Mark had prepared everything for her

"Thanks" Meredith breathed as she laid down on the mattress

"I missed you!" Amelia started talking and took a seat on the bed, causing Meredith to groan in pain

"Amy-" Mark gasped and the girl jumped up immediately

"I'm sorry, Meredith" She whispered "I'm so sorry"

"It's okay, sweetheart" Meredith tried to calm Amelia down, feeling bad for scaring the girl "I'm sorry for scaring you, I promise it's okay"

"What happened to you?" Amelia quietly asked

"I fell" Meredith quickly replied, not wanting to tell the real story

"Oh! Then I have something for you!" The girl yelled and ran out of the room

"Are you comfortable, honey?" Carolyn asked Meredith and started stuffing up her leg

"Hmm.. It's okay"'Meredith tried not to wince and was happy when Carolyn was done

"I'm bringing you something to drink" Mark said and left the room

"Meredith!" Amelia ran inside "Here you go!" The girl said as she ran in with several stuffies in her arms and threw them on the bed "They'll keep you company"

"Thanks a lot, sweetie" Meredith smiled and felt getting emotional as they all tried to help her, finally someone who wanted to really help her but she knew she couldn't rely on them, she was old enough to provide for herself

But now those hospital bills were on their way

"How would she ever be able to pay for them?" She panicked

"Mer? I promise they'll keep you safe!" Amelia explained as she saw Meredith zoning out

"Thank you, Amy. I'm sure Meredith loves it, isn't it?" Derek asked as he looked at Meredith with concern

"Yeah.. Yeah" She nodded her head "Thank you Amy" She nodded

"Mer?" Amelia quietly asked "Will you be able to play with me and my dolls again soon?"

"Not very soon, Amelia" Carolyn spoke up

"But we can play. Well, you'll have to play but I can watch" Meredith explained

"Yes!" Amelia said and ran away again

"I'll go make some dinner, make sure to rest enough" Carolyn placed a kiss on Meredith's forehead

"I love you and our girl" Derek kissed Meredith's stomach

"We love you too" Meredith smiled softly and brushed her hand through his curls

"Mer!" Amelia ran in with a baby doll in her arms "Can I play with your baby once she's born?"

"Of course. You'll be auntie Amy" Derek smiled at his sister

"Really?" Amelia gasped

"Really" Meredith giggled causing her to wince in pain

"Oh-" Amelia immediately put the stuffies closer "Here, they'll help you"

"Thanks Amy" Meredith smiled

"Amy, maybe you should go downstairs and check on mom. I think Mer needs a nap" He tried to convince his sister

"Okay" Amelia giggled and ran out
