"Don't tell your mom, please" Meredith quietly asked before they entered the house

"Mer, my mom will find out anyway as I'm not letting you stay on the streets" Derek frowned

"I'll find a solution" Meredith nodded her head

"Let's go inside for now" Derek kissed her head

"Mer! Der!" Amelia jumped up once she saw them "How's the baby?"

"Let's go upstairs, Amy. We have some pictures to show you" Derek smiled and the three of them made their way upstairs

"Did you find out if it's a boy or a girl?" Amelia asked with a smile

"We did" Derek nodded his head. He had wanted to do one of those gender reveal parties but they had realised it's not very cheap and they barely had anyone to invite. They hadn't said anything at school and Carolyn already knew the gender

"We're having a girl" Meredith smiled and felt Derek squeeze her hand softly

"Really?" Amelia gasped "Yes!" She giggled

"At least she's happy" Meredith laughed "Mark would have prefered a boy"

"I don't care about Mark" Derek kissed Meredith's kips

"I love you" She breathed

"Ew!" Amelia ran away

"In 5 years it won't be 'ew' anymore" Derek laughed

"Yeah." Meredith nodded

"I'm sorry about your mom, Mer. I'm sorry she acted that way" Derek wrapped Meredith in his arms when she started crying

"I was so scared" Meredith admitted "And I- I'll miss my room and- I shouldn't even care" She sighed

"Hey, it's okay. I got you" Derek wrapped her in his arms and let her cry herself to sleep until she was woken up by Carolyn for dinner and while Meredith quickly went to the bathroom Derek tried to talk to his mom

"Mom, would it be okay if Meredith stays for a while?"

"Of course, Derek. I love having Meredith around but is everything okay with her?" She frowned

"Yeah, we'll explain later on" He hugged his mom and waited for his girlfriend as they went downstairs together

"I'll see you tonight" Derek dropped Meredith off at school. He had already dropped off his mom at the hospital and he was on his way to college

Meredith had one real friend, Alex. He protected her when people would start make snarky comments as people started to find out about her pregnancy

"Ms Grey, can we talk to you?" Meredith's English teacher and the principal walked towards her

"Uh- Of course" Meredith nodded and followed them, she felt her anxiety rising

"Take a seat, Meredith" Her English teacher smiled

"Thank you" Meredith whispered and did so. Her hands folded in her lap as she started fidgeting with the fabric of her shirt

"Meredith, we heard you are expecting a baby, is that true?" The principal asked

"Y-Yes" Meredith nodded "A b-baby girl" She smiled a bit a she already felt a connection with her daughter

"Congratulations" Her English teacher softly rubbed her back and Meredith nodded her head

"Although your mother told us she refuses to pay for anything that has to do with you or your new family, were you aware of that?" The principal asked and Meredith slowly shook her head, trying her best not to start crying

"I'm sorry, Meredith. Can I ask if you can arrange everything financially?" Her English teacher spoke up

"I have a bank account in my own name with enough money for college and med school, I can use it for now and the baby. We'll be fine, I got this" She nodded her head

"In case there are any issues feel free to talk to us. We'll try to help where we can" Her principal said "We would need a copy of your birth certificate again and a new address and stuff like that" They explained

"Oh-" Meredith gasped "Of course" She nodded her head but she couldn't ask Carolyn to use her address. She just needed to finally be responsible and find herself an apartment but would she be able to do that combined with school?" Meredith started thinking and completely lost her focus until her teacher's voice pulled her back

"Meredith, sweetie. Are you doing okay?" She asked quietly

"O-Of course" Meredith nodded "Am I allowed to go now?" Meredith asked as she heard the bell ringing, announcing she was done for the day

"Of course and don't forget you can always come talk to us, I promise" Her English teacher smiled softly

"Thanks" Meredith nodded and took off. She left the school and knew she had to go to her mother's house to pick up her birth certificate. She decided to walk to her street and see if Ellis was home, if she wasn't then she would quickly grab the spare key, enter the house, grab what she needs and leave again

As she was walking home she was stroking her belly with one hand

"I can't believe I'm already four months along. I love you, honey" Meredith whispered and kept talking to her daughter until she reached her mother's house. She didn't see Ellis' car so quickly got inside and ran upstairs to Ellis' office where she found what she was searching for "We got it" She smiled as her hand found her stomach

"And now you're stealing from me?" Ellis' voice was heard

"I just- I needed my birth certificate for school. They needed me to sign in a copy with my new address" Meredith quietly said

"I told you to never come back! You're a whore, Meredith!" Ellis screamed

Meredith nodded and wanted to run downstairs again when she felt Ellis grabbing her wrist

"Aww, you're hurting me!" Meredith quickly said as she tried to pull away

"You're worthless! I never should have gotten you!" Ellis screamed

"Please, let go!" Meredith whimpered as her wrist started to really hurt by now

"Your father was way smarter" Ellis pushed Meredith away but the girl tripped, falling down the stairs

"Aww" Meredith groaned as she was laying down on the ground. Her first thoughts went to her baby. She started crying as pain ripped through her body but mainly being scared for her baby in her stomach
