"Mew." Off called for third time finally gaining attention of his friend.
"Yes?"
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah."
"Is something bothering you?"
"No."
"You don't look fine to me. Is something going on? Why aren't you telling me?"
"Just exam stress."
"Are you sure? These past few weeks you seem different."
Mew laughed at that, "Come on, bro I'm fine. Don't worry too much."
"If you say so. You can talk to me about anything. You know that, right?"
"Of course."
"Is it something to do with Gulf? After you guys broke up you have been weird."
"We were just fake dating, Off. Why would I be worried about something like that?"
"Then why did you break it off so suddenly?"
"I got the money I needed and Gulf also said we should end it now."
"You don't hang out anymore. Where are you busy after college these days?"
"Just my part time jobs."
"Is that all?"
"Yes."
"Okay, I'll trust you on this one. If anything happens just let me know."
"Sure bro."
Mew hadn't been able to open up to even Off. He had thought of telling him about Gulf thing but everything happened so soon he missed the opportunity and now he didn't feel like talking about it anymore. As for bullying, there was no point in dragging Off into his mess. He would end up fighting with them and end up in front of Disciplinary Committee. Mew needed to keep up appearance. He couldn't let anyone see anything was amiss.
Things were taking a toll on him physically and mentally. He had to stay up late at night to catch up with his studies and complete his bullies' works too. Acting as if everything was okay was emotionally taxing as well. He wanted to scream for help but knew no one could actually help him. He had given up on escaping. He was just waiting for the year to be over so he could get out of this hell.
But things took a nasty turn in coming month. He was writing Lewis's assignment in his house while the boys were chattering and laughing.
"I'm bored, guys." Lewis exclaimed suddenly.
"What're you thinking about?"
"Mew is getting boring. There's no fun in bullying him anymore."
"Yeah, he doesn't show any emotion."
"Let's take it to another level."
"What do you mean?"
"He's a s***. Let's treat him like one."
"Sounds interesting."
"Mew, come here."
Mew was oblivious to what was going to happen. He stood up and walked towards them fidgeting nervously. As soon as he was standing in front of them, Lewis kicked at his legs making him kneel.
Lewis said, "Take off your shirt."
"W-What?"
"Didn't you hear me? Take off your shirt, fag."
"But why?"
"You'll know soon."
Mew was shivering in fear. He wanted to run away. He so desperately wished he had his brother with him right now. He didn't know what to do. Should he do as asked? Or should he try to get out of this? But Lewis wouldn't listen to him anyway. What choice did he even have? But who knows what they had planned for him. Would it just end with him taking off his shirt? How worse was his life going to get?
