Loved Ones

The entire atmosphere in Mew's house was tense. Kit and Sarawat were looking apprehensively at Gulf who kept fidgeting with his fingers. Mew had finally decided to tell his brothers the truth but was too scared to do it alone so he had asked Gulf to accompany him.

"Why is he here?" Kit asked.

"I need to tell you guys something."

"Are you both dating?" Sarawat asked.

Mew denied, "No."

"What is it, Mew?"

And Mew told them everything from the beginning till last night. The look on their faces could only be described as mix of anger and grief. Sarawat got up from the couch and hugged Mew tightly. He took Mew's face in his hands and caressed it while crying silently.

"Why didn't you tell me before? How could you go through something like that alone?" He asked.

"I didn't want you both to get hurt."

"I don't mind getting hurt if it's for you, Mew."

"Seeing you both in pain was the last thing I wanted."

"It must have been terrible and you had no one to wipe your tears."

Sarawat kissed him on forehead and hugged him again letting his head fall on his chest. Kit hadn't said a word. His head was lowered and the silence was making both Mew and Gulf nervous.

"Phi?"

Kit raised his head and the tears streaming down his face made Mew cry too. Kit hardly ever cried, it came with being the eldest who had to raise two brothers alone. He couldn't break down every time something hurt him so he had hardened himself emotionally so that he could be pillar of support for his family. Even when things got hard or unbearable, he didn't let it show, choosing to keep it all inside instead of letting his brothers worry.

But this kinda broke his heart. His baby brother had gone through something so horrific and he had absolutely no idea. He wasn't there to protect Mew. To him it was like he had failed as his elder brother. When Mew told them about self harming, Kit felt like killing himself. The boy he had done everything to protect, to keep safe, was hurting so badly while he was oblivious. He blamed himself for not being strong enough that Mew could trust him with his problems.

"I know what you're doing, Phi. You're blaming yourself again." Mew said.

"Mew, I should have known."

"You didn't because I didn't let you. It's not your fault in any way. Don't even think like that."

"I'm so sorry, baby. I should have saved you."

"Phi, you're the reason I can hold onto life. You've always protected me from everything even if it meant hurting yourself in the process. This time I wanted to protect you."

"You don't have to, Mew."

"But I want to."

Kit scrambled towards Mew and Sarawat and engulfed them in a tight hug. It felt soothing to have his two most favorite person in the world in his arms. He needed nothing else. As long as Mew and Sarawat were safe and happy, Kit was content with life. He desired no more. His entire life revolved around his brothers and there's not a thing he wouldn't do for them.

Gulf looked at the family fondly. He was happy Mew had opened up to his family and things had been sorted out. He admired the bond they shared. He could understand how Kit must be feeling. He felt the same for Wayo. If anything happened to him, and Gulf wasn't there to protect him, it would hurt like hell. No matter how old your younger siblings get, the urge to protect them never goes away.

Kit disentangled himself and turned towards Gulf, "Gulf, I think we need to talk."

"Sure."

"What is your relationship with my brother?"

"Phi." Mew whined.

"Bun, let us talk." Gulf admonished him gently.

"Kit, first of all I want to apologize for starting the contractual relationship with your brother. In no way was it my intention to take advantage of him or harm him. He intrigued me and instead of doing this proper way, I chose to be childish and immature. As for that video, I assure you it's already deleted."

"Gulf didn't film it." Mew intervened.

"You already told me that."

"Bub." Gulf stared at Mew in scolding manner making him pout adorably.

Kit couldn't help but smile at that, "I know that it wasn't you who had filmed it. It was hasty of me to jump to conclusion like that."

"It's fine, Kit. Anyone would react like that. I meant what I said to you that night. I really like your brother."

"You both have quite an age gap."

"I kn-"

Mew couldn't help but interrupt, "Phi, he's not that old. Only few years."

Gulf stared at him like he was promising him a through punishment for disobeying him like that and that made Mew puff out his cheeks and pout.

"I know that but I don't really care about that unless it bothers Mew. It's no-"

"It doesn't." He interrupted them once again.

"Bun, you're being a bad boy right now."

Mew gasped cutely, "Am I?"

"Yes, do you want to upset me?"

"No."

"Then be a good boy and don't interrupt."

"Okay."

Kit was amused at seeing this side of Mew and it warmed his heart, "So are you guys dating."

"No. I'm giving Mew the space he needs right now. He had been through a lot and I think he needs to focus on himself rather than something else. I don't mind waiting for him. He's worth it all."

Mew pecked Gulf on cheek and then blushed instantly realizing what he had done and buried his face in the cushion.

"What about your family? Would they approve? I mean we aren't rich or-"

"Kit, financial status means nothing to me Or my family. Only thing they want is for me to be happy. Accepting Mew? My mother and brother already love him."

"I'm still getting used to the idea of my baby brother being in a relationship but I have no problem with it. As long as you keep him happy, I don't mind it."

"Thank you, Kit. It means a lot to get your approval."

"Why?"

"Because Mew loves and respects you a lot so I want you to like me too."

Kit smiled at that, "We'll see."

"I need to talk to about something too."

"What?"

"What did you think about applying to my company?"

"I'm not sure."

"Kit, don't think I am doing you any favor. I'm being selfish here. You're talented and I want such talent on my team, that's all."

"I'll think about it."

"That's good enough for now. If it's okay with you, I want to take Mew out for a date."

"Sure."

Mew looked at Gulf surprised, "Where?"

"It's a secret."
