It was now morning and Kion yawns awaking from his slumber. The prince looks down at the cheetah underneath him and his face immediately sadden until he heard someone walk in.

"Morning Kion." Beshte greeted as him, Ono, and Bunga walks in.

"Oh, morning guys." Kion replied, with a small smile.

"So are you ready the morning patrol?" Bunga asked getting into fighting shape.

Kion's face immediately changed, to sadness. He didn't want to leave Fuli to be honest with himself.

"Kion, nothing will happen." Bunga said reading his best friend.

"You don't know that Bunga, anything can happen." Kion said sadly, wincing at the memory of yesterday.

"Yes but how can we prevent it if you stay here and not doing anything out there. Fuli is recovering, Kion, it will take time and it won't help either of you if you stay here with Fuli."

"Bunga does have a point, Kion." Ono butted in agreeing, "If you stay here with Fuli time will go by slowly for you, plus you are our leader, we can't cover much ground with three animals if you don't come and with Fuli recovering we're in no doubt won't be able to help others in need." He finished.

Kion looks down feeling bad, he still has his duty to defend the pridelands, he can't stay with Fuli when someone's in danger. He would fail and the circle of life will fall out of balance because of his actions. He has to do what's right.

"Okay, let's go to the water hole first." Kion sighed.

The three gave the prince a small smile and they left the Lair.

Kion sighs then looks down at Fuli, he gave her a kiss.

"I'll be back as soon as I can." Kion said hoping she heard before leaving to join the others.

-------------------------------

"Okay everyone, Bunga you got west, Ono east, Beshte south and I'll take north, any questions?" Kion asked.

When nothing was said they all went off their separate ways starting off the patrol.

While Kion was patrolling the area he couldn't stop having flashbacks from yesterday, he never seen nor felt so much sorrow and devastation. The animal he was growing to love was dying and in pain right in front of him, if there was no way of saving Fuli he wouldn't forgive himself, the other path of him would be gone forever and that part was Fuli.

How would he be able to live woth that? He wouldn't and isn't. He is so filled with rage he just wants to go over there to the Outlands and make Janja pay for what he has done.

"Kion."

The male lion stops to a halt looking around to who called his name.

"Kion."

"Who's there." Kion said still looking around.

"Look up."

The lion looks up to the sky seeing his grandfather, Mufasa.

"Grandfather?"

"Yes Kion, it's me."

"But..what are you doing here?"

Kion thought he had to call his grandfather for him to appear but he was wrong.

"To talk to you. I sensed you anger."

Kion immediately looks down ashamed.

"Don't let the anger blind you Kion, you are better than that. You fight for good not anger and vengeance."

"I know grandfather, but how can't I? Fuli was dying right in front of me."

"I know you are hurt and still is, but Fuli will pull through."

"I hope she does....but Rafiki said it's up to her if she heals or leaves.."

"Yes, her body took a lot of damage and is still fatal that can take a turn, but you have to hope for the best Kion."

"I'm trying but everytime I see her I remember yesterday, I never could picture what you and dad been through grandfather."

"Yes, no one could, I couldn't, but what you need to think about is Fuli is alive and is fighting for her life to be with the ones she loves. She needs you to stay strong for her and never give up hope."

Kion knew his grandfather was right but it was hard to step away from, but he has to if he wants the one he loves in his arms.

"You're right grandfather."

Mufasa nods with a smile as the clouds deformed.

"Do what's right."

Kion nods walking away continuing on with his day.

"Do what's right. Never give up hope."
