The Lion Guard: Back to One

Chapter 8

It has been one week since Kion and Fuli told how they felt for one another and they have been slowly developing. After the lion guard saved the Pridelands Kion would come back and hang out with Fuli more to make up the time. It was good for Fuli since she's been taking the medicine Rafiki gave her but it wasn't helping with the nightmares. She doesn't know how to get rid of them that's why tomorrow she is going to speak with Rafiki.

Right now Fuli just finished with her dinner Kion catched for her and decided to get something to drink. Slowly moving away from Kion she hops of the sledge and was about to leave but heard a voice.

"Fuli? Where are you going?"

It was Kion, he just woke up from his nap and looks at the cheetah.

"Just to get some water, I'll be back." Fuli told then walks away.

"Let me come with you." Kion said hopping of the sledge.

"No Kion, I'll be back, you can go back to sleep."

He always tried this, it wasn't new. Every time Fuli would slip away from him he woke up and would always follow her wherever she went to.

"I'm not tired." Kion said.

"Well then wait for me."

"But-"

Fuli shuts him up with a kiss then nuzzles him making him purr.

"I'll be back just wait for me, okay."

Kion sighs knowing he can't change her mind, "Okay."

Fuli walks away outside of the Lair to the closest lake. When she was there took a few laps until she was satisfied then looks at her reflection. Immediately she saw that day, Janja's evil look and smile, the way he threw her back in the gorge, she thought she died. How was she so lucky?

Letting her tears fall it hurts more on the inside than it does on the outside.

Fuli didn't even hear someone walking up to her but she did feel the fur, without even looking at the animal she lays her head on his chest knowing it was Kion, she lets him hug her as she silently sobs.

Kion didn't speak he just held her as she sobbed, he knew what it was and he wants to help get rid of it but he can't he doesn't know how. Then something pops into his mind.

"How about we go see Rafiki tomorrow." He suggests.

"I already was." Fuli told.

"Alright. Let's head back to the Lair."

"Okay."

They walk away from the lake back to the Lair, when they made it they laid down and got comfortable against each other.

Kion gave Fuli a kiss before falling asleep.

Fuli laid there before closing her eyes too.

But one question kept playing in her head. Why did Janja do it?
