Angel was awoken to the feeling of someone gently sitting down on the bed next to her. She grumbled as she stirred and lazily opened an eye. Her brother's face grinned down at her."Wake up love, we're off out." He spoke cheerily as she groaned once more, shaking her head.
"Oh yes and you're coming, we need your help."
Angel shook her head as she slowly shut her eye and tried to shuffle further down in the bed.
"Oh you're fucking coming, we kinda need to get some unbroken furniture for this place." He mumbled as he glanced around.
Angel said nothing, only groaned once more louder as she pulled the blanket over her head.
"You're leaving me no choice here love..." her brother mumbled as he looked down at her unmoving figure under the bed.
She heard footsteps as she lay there in silence, praying he'd go away and let her sleep.
"You wanna help?"
She heard him ask someone as she fought against her curiosity and shuffled about once more. If Knuckles was going to jump on her again as he used to, she wanted to be prepared.
More footsteps were heard as she felt someone sit down on her bed, beside her.
"Last chance Angel." She heard her brother's voice again.
Angel felt a smile creep onto her face as she forced herself to stay hidden under the blanket. She heard her brother laugh.
"Looks like it's just us today then Ace." He spoke as he continued to laugh.
Angel flung the blanket down off her head as she saw Ace smiling down at her from his spot on the bed. Her mouth open as she looked between the two, confused.
"Ace and the others know where we can get stuff on the cheap. Offered to give us a hand for today." Chains spoke as he stepped closer and leant down over his sister.
"Now are you coming or not?" He asked with a smirk on his face. Though he may dislike the cobra, he knew his sister wouldn't be able to say no.
Angel glared at him from her spot on the bed as she knew exactly what he was thinking. He winked at her as he straightened up and walked over to the door. Ace got up and followed him as they both turned to face her, their smirks almost matching.
"You know, I liked it better when you two didn't get on." Angel grumbled as she sat up and kept her glare on both.
Ace and Chains simply gave her a smile as they both turned and walked out her room, shutting her door behind them. She groaned once more as she managed to pull herself out of bed and over to her drawers.
Grabbing her shorts, underwear and a plain shirt she went off for her morning shower. Being careful to not scratch at her new tattoo, she washed completely before stepping out and getting ready for the day.
As she ventured downstairs she saw both, the cobras and constrictors seemingly working together to clear out all the broken things from the house.
"This is weird." She mumbled as she walked past Charlie and Bullet carrying out the broken table.
Heading into the kitchen she saw Ace, Chains, Knuckles and Eyeball leaning against the counter.
"There's the little sleeper!" Knuckles said cheerfully as she entered.
He picked up a mug of coffee from the side and walked over to her. She took it from him in a heartbeat and began sipping as she gently leant against his shoulder.
By the time the rest were done she was feeling a lot more awake, having also eaten. Charlie came in and told them they were all ready to go as they all nodded at him, slowly following him out.
The rubbish had been divided into the several cars parked outside as Ace pointed out who's was who's to her. She gave him a soft smile as she felt Chains guiding her over to his. It was just them driving in his as he started the car up and followed Eyeball as he led the way to where they could dump all the rubbish.
"Since when are you and him best friends?" She finally asked her brother as he drove along.
Chains scoffed as he glanced at her. "Since when are you and him best friends?" He returned her question to her.
Angel glared at him as she turned her head slowly and looked out the back window. Ace's car was right behind his and she gave him a small smile before turning back to her brother.
"I don't think he's like him you know?" She mumbled as her mind once again turned to the reason they ran in the first place.
"I thought you didn't want to be involved with anyone in a gang?" He asked her quietly as he kept his focus on driving.
Angel shrugged slightly. "I thought so too but..." her voice trailed off.
Chains forced a laugh. "You sound just like mum."
Angel snapped her head to face him as he nodded slowly. Chains was 10 years older than Angel and she had always been jealous of the fact he got 10 years with their mum, while she'd always been deprived of that.
"Mum always said she'd never marry a gangster." He mumbled as he gripped the steering wheel a little tighter. "3 years later, I came along." He laughed to himself.
"Is this your way of saying I can marry him?" Angel asked laughing.
Chains quickly shook his head. "Hell fucking no. This is me saying I never thought I'd see the day you changed your mind and want someone like him."
Angel shrugged slightly as she turned to look out the window. Each car had now pulled up as all the boys got out and started unloading the cars, dumping the rubbish in the big rubbish skips they had.
Angel watched from her spot in the car as they, once again, worked together. Her car door was opened as she turned to see Chains standing there, staring at her expectantly.
"You know, you could help you know?" He asked, already out of breath.
Angel smiled at him as she reached out, placing a hand on the door handle.
"Could, would, should." She started. "Won't." She finished with a grin as he stepped back while she pulled the door shut again.
