Angel stirred as she rolled her slowly. The feeling of an arm over her waist gave her comfort as the thought of being in her bed relaxed her.

She instinctively shuffled in closer, wincing slightly from the pain shooting through her body, up and down.

"Angel..."

The whisper forced her eyes to open, a small grumble leaving her lips.

"Knuckles?" She blurted out as she attempted to sit up.

The pain in her body flared up as she reached out and dug her nails into his arm. He gently pulled her back down into his arms, feeling her relax.

"We got you now." He whispered as his grip around her tightened, keeping her closer to his chest.

"Wanna tell me what happened last night?" He asked quietly, unsure if she remembered or was even ready to talk about it.

"You all left..." she mumbled as the memories flashed back like a bad dream.

She rolled slowly onto her back, still feeling his arm under her neck. Knuckles rolled on his side as he listened quietly.

"I was just in my room. Then someone knocked on the front door..." she mumbled as she brought a hand up to her head and gently rubbed it, trying to remember.

"I ignored it at first." Her head turned to Knuckles. "Thought it was like one of you forgot something you know?"

He nodded slowly.

"Then it came again, louder and harder. Like someone was gonna break it down." She mumbled as she took a deep breath.

"I went down to go open it but the moment I did, they just came at me..." Her voice trailed off as Knuckled instantly pulled her back into him.

Her head gently rest on his shoulder as he rubbed her back and hair.

"What happened to them?" Angel asked quietly as she didn't dare look up at him.

Knuckles's face distorted into confusion. "What?"

"The guys." She mumbled into his chest. "What happened?"

Knuckles face remained the same as he quietly asked his next question. "Angel... what happened after they came at you?"

"I managed to run, went to go find you and the others but I didn't know where I was going so I just kinda ran."

Knuckles kept his confused face. "Angel... when they came at you... what did they do?"

"He... he had a bat I think?" She mumbled as she slowly sat up.

Knuckles quickly sat up straight as his hand went to the side of her head. Apologising when he saw the way she flinched and winced in pain, he gently felt a large lump on her head.

"What happened after you ran?"

Angel thought for a while as she shrugged. "I... I can't remember."

Knuckles nodded slowly but before he could ask another question she wrapped her arms around his waist and leant into him again.

His arms wrapped around her slowly as he attempted to work this out.

"Angel... do you know the way to Irbys?" He mumbled.

Angel slowly pulled away as she looked up at him.

"What's Irbys?"

Knuckles mouth dropped slightly as he quickly shut it, not wanting to worry her.

"Nothing, okay." He mumbled as he slowly got up out of bed.

"I'm just going to get your brother, let him know you're awake."

Angel nodded slowly confused as he got up and quickly left the room.

Knuckles almost fell down the stairs as he bundled into the living room. The others instantly jumped up, worry, concern and fear plastered their faces.

"She's okay she's okay don't worry!" He blurted out as he panted slightly. "We just may have a small situation." He mumbled as he sat down on the edge of the sofa.

It didn't take long for the rest of them to be filled in with everything Angel had said to him upstairs.

They shared the same glances as Chains stood up.

"Let me talk to her." He mumbled as he pushed his way through and went upstairs.

Slowly walking into his sister's room he gently tapped on the door. She beamed up at him as he edged himself in.

"Hey little miss." He gave her a small smile as he slowly shut the door behind him and moved closer to her.

Taking a seat on her bed, he watched as she reached out and took his head.

"Knuckles reckons you took a bit of a whack on the head last night aye?"

Angel nodded slowly. "There was a bat I think? And a bump?" She mumbled as she brought her hand up to the side of her head before wincing again.

Chains reached out and took her hand. "He thinks you might have forgotten a few things."

Fear flashed over Angel's face as Chains quickly nudged himself forward, gently giving her hands a squeeze.

"Hey hey, it's okay. Anything you forgot will come back to you in no time." He spoke softly, attempting to reassure her.

His hand reached out and gently stroked her cheek. "Main thing is you're here and you're safe now. One of us is always going to be here."

Angel nodded slowly as she felt comforted by her brother's firm decisions.

"Hungry?" He asked with a smile.

Angel couldn't hide the smile as she nodded. Chains gave her hands a gentle tap as he stood up.

"I'll get one of the boys to bring you up some food." He gave her a small kiss on the head.

"Can it be Knuckles?" Angel's question stopped Chains in his tracks as he looked down at her.

Angel gave him another small smile. "You know..." she mumbled as Chains's eyes widened slightly.

He gave her a small nod as he stepped back.

"Anything else?" He offered up.

Angel shook her head, smiling still. "Just Knuckles." She smirked at her brother.

Chains nodded slowly. "Course Ace."

"Who?"

A smile appeared on Chains's face.

"Nothing love. Knuckles will bring up some food."

Angel stared at him blankly as he turned and gently walked out the room.

"Perfect." He mumbled as he walked down the stairs slowly, the smile not leaving his face.
