Angel lay completely wrapped in Ace's arms for what felt like an eternity. Yet even he sat up and pulled away, it felt like it hadn't been long enough.

Angel had told him all she could remember as Ace lay in silence, gently twirling a piece of her hair around his finger aimlessly.

"Well they definitely know you're here now." He mumbled as he turned to face her, sitting upright.

Angel nodded as she sat up and leant her head against his shoulder.

"Did you seriously forget who I was?" He asked quietly, he knew the answer would hurt but he just had to hear, he was his own worst enemy.

Angel shrugged slightly. "Kind of, there was something there though. I knew the card meant something." She mumbled as she reached out and grabbed it from the pillow.

The pair looked down at the Ace of Hearts card as it stared back up at them.

"You still believe in that past life stuff?" He mumbled as gently let his head rest against hers.

Angel nodded slowly as she pulled away, looking up at him.

"Kinda nice to think about right?"

Ace shrugged but nodded. "Guess so. Maybe the card meant something in one of them." He laughed to himself.

Angel forced a laugh as she nodded. "Yeah maybe. Or it could be telling us something for the next one?"

Ace scoffed as he leant back, letting her lie back down and rest her chin on his shoulder, glancing up at him.

"You trying to tell me I'm stuck as Ace in the next life too?!" He groaned out.

Angel laughed and nodded as she lifted herself up, her hands went to either side of his head.

"I like it."

Ace rolled his eyes as Angel looked down at him.

"Maybe in the next life you'll have a proper family." She offered as a type of comfort.

Ace gave her a small smile. "Maybe you will too."

The pair fell into a comfortable silence as Angel, again returned to resting her head on him.

Yet it was broken by the sound of someone knocking at the door. Ace growled to himself but got up as he heard Angel following him down.

He swung the front door open and felt Angel's hand instinctively reach out and hold onto the back of his shirt.

"Ace." Chains spoke as he took a deep breath, noticing his sister, his words felt forced, as though he was trying too hard to be polite.

"Boys." Ace replied as he glanced back at the others standing behind Chains.

"I think we need to talk." Chains mumbled as his attention turned down to Angel.

"Just talk?" Ace asked curiously as he remembered their fight from the night before. He really knocked Chains a good one as he saw the purple bruise forming under his eye.

Chains hesitated as he tried to but his tongue. "If you're still willing to help then I suggest we talk."

Ace scoffed. "We'll help, for her. Not you."

Chains nodded slowly. "Take it we're not allowed in?"

Ace said nothing as he moved aside, Angel quickly moved also as she continued to cling to Ace's shirt.

Chains hesitated but slowly edged himself inside. The others following.

"We can talk in there." Ace mumbled as he nodded towards the living room, his gaze falling on Angel.
