     Have you heard?
About the yokai in the woods?
The children sing songs about her.

"Prettier than a peacock
And fairer than the snow~
A lady of night, dressed in all but white,
Said to put on an entrancing show~

They say her hair is red~
They say her kimono is blue~
They say her obi is purple~
And her hair ornaments too~

You'll find her in the woods,
Completely of place~
You'll find an oiran lady,
And she will not have a face~"

What a creepy little tune it is.
Whoever came up with it must enjoy children screams.
     But it's true.

There is a yokai in the woods.  With dark red hair and beautiful clothes, her collar drawn far from her neck.
And she does not have a face.
She wears an all red mask, in the shape of a horrible beast.
It's said the mere sight of it, will put you right to sleep.
You'll see her among the trees, late into the night.  She'll turn and you'll see that horrible mask, sure to give you a fright.
And then she'll be gone.  That oiran without a face.
She lives in he woods near our town.
A yokai with a terrible fate.
