The disease is know as Rosaceae Syndrome.
It chooses it's victims at random.
Not genetic, not passed through the air or communal surfaces. It is a mysterious rare disease.
Tanjiro was born with it.
When he opened his eyes the little purplish bud nestled in his pinkened collar bone opened as well.
He was diagnosed quickly. Rosaceae Syndrome is easy to see after all, a flower blooms naturally from the infected's very skin, this flower slowly drains them of their life essence and the life expectancy for people born with it is not much longer than 30. There is no cure. And only one way to stop he disease. The persons true love must pluck the flower from them.
Tanjiro was a beautiful child with small stalks of lavender blooming from his collarbone, bringing out the pinks in his kind eyes and soft hair. He was gentle and kind. Humble and down to earth.
And when Tanjiro was 6 a second flower bud appeared.
By the time he was thirteen there was an entire bouquet blooming in his collarbone. And when he was thirteen his family was slaughtered, his sister turned into a flesh eating beast.
When Tanjiro lays staring at the ceiling of the Butterfly Estate years later, thinking about the pillars he just met he feels the tickle of his flowers blooming further.
A story in which Tanjiro is in love with a lot of people who love him too.
