Yakuza member Tanjiro who has no choice but to do as is ordered or he will be deemed useless and disposed of accordingly.

Yakuza member Tanjiro who is summoned by his bastard boss to the meeting room, where he finds a bloody kid crawled up against the back wall, crying silently.
"What the hell is this."
"Kill him for me?  The kid seems useless enough but he's a pureblood Rengoku so I'd rather not take my chances."
Yakuza member Tanjiro who feels a vein in his neck throb as his boss waves nonchalantly towards the sniveling child.
"No."

Yakuza member Tanjiro who stands tall even when his boss crosses the room and demands he do it.
Yakuza member Tanjiro who tosses his katana in it's saya across the room with a loud clatter and faces his bosses wrath with a face of stone.
Yakuza member Tanjiro who only flinches when his boss draws his own blade and cuts off Tanjiro's pinky before aiming the sword for his neck.
Yakuza member Tanjiro who moves so fast he seems to flicker like a flame as he twists the weapon away from his superior and sends the other man stumbling back.
Yakuza member Tanjiro who points the sword back on it's owner in his left hand as his right trickles blood like a leaky faucet.
"You didn't think I'd let myself be disposed of like that, did you?
I can fight left handed too, remember it."
Yakuza member Tanjiro who grimaces as his boss cackles and gives him two more chances, two more fingers and points at the kid one last time.
"Really now, though.  Kill him."

Yakuza Tanjiro who refused yet again and when his boss asks sardonically what else they will do with the kid to keep him quiet he crosses the massive room in quick long strides coming to a stop towering over the boy.
"I'll watch him."

Younger sibling Senjuro who is taken in by a silent bloody man who carries him gently and cooks him warm food.
Younger sibling Senjuro who falls asleep from exhaustion on a strangers couch and wakes up tucked under a warm blanket.
Younger sibling Senjuro who is given this shockingly kind man's phone to call his big brother.
Younger sibling Senjuro who wants to make sure that this strange man is as safe as he is now.

Yakuza Head Rengoku Kyojuro who has been tearing bases, entire hotels, homes, warehouses, and whole sections of city apart.  Turning Tokyo upside down in search of his little brother who disappeared like thin air.
Yakuza Head Rengoku who gets a ping from an unknown number asking if this is him.  Out of curiosity and frustration he replies with an affirmative.
Yakuza Head Rengoku who's whole world nearly skids to a stop when this strange number calls him and he hears his baby brothers voice over the phone.
Yakuza Head Rengoku who is as doubting as he is relieved when Senjuro tells him he was saved by a strange man and they will meet up with him in a nearby park at 9am on Sunday.
Yakuza Head Rengoku who shows up armed to the teeth under his spring overcoat. And who's heart leaps into his throat at the sight of his dear baby brother in crutches, being helped along by a stranger that reeks of strength and threat.
"Aniue!  You came!!"
"Of course.  What happened to your legs, who took you?  Where have you been?"
"Ah- uhm- Aniue wait please-"
Yakuza Head Rengoku who sweeps his younger sibling under one arm the second the boy hobbles forward and points a .44 caliber pistol directly at the strangers face once he has his brother in hand.

Yakuza Head Rengoku who is as confused as he is suspicious when the stranger raises their hands slowly and deliberately, showing no intention of harm.  There are fresh bandages around their right hand and Senjuro is begging him not to shoot to put the gun down.
"He saved me he did!  His boss cut off his finger for it see?  See the bandages, Aniue?!  Please, please don't shoot him he's good!  He's a good person!"
Yakuza Head Rengoku who hesitated only because the strange man blinks at his baby brother like Senjuro has gone mad and mumbles in the gentlest voice Rengoku's heard since his mother passed, "No kiddo.  I'm not good.  I'm not a good person.  I'm a bad guy, a selfish, terrible, evil person.  Go home with your big brother and forget about me."
Yakuza Head Rengoku who finally lowers the gun because Senjuro is starting to cry.  And faces the man who looks at him confused.

Yakuza member Tanjiro who realizes it will take another man with just as bloody hands as his own to bring him back to life.
