When I told my mum to sleep in today because Ashton would be giving me a ride to school, she didn't even try to protest. I think she was too happy to be getting some extra sleep. When I see Ashton's car pull up outside, I feel like a kid going to Disneyland or something. I hop in the passenger's seat and wave to Harry and Lauren after Harry gives me his usual greeting.

"Good morning Luke. You should've seen how excited Lauren got when I told her we'd be picking you up-" I lightly slap Ashton's arm to scold him but it's not very effective since there's a permanent smile on my face.

"Fine, I'll stop." He giggles.

"Alright, first we're picking up Michael and Calum, then we'll drop these two off at school."

It's not until we get to Michael and Calums that I realize there's not enough room for everyone unless someone sits in the front middle seat, right up against Ashton. I mean, of course I want it to be me because of obvious reasons, but would it make him uncomfortable? Well, he does always choose to sit as close to me as possible, but still. I feel weirdly gross about it. Ashton doesn't know I'm gay, if he did then he might not be as comfortable with this sort of thing.

Maybe he wouldn't be comfortable with me at all anymore.

Calum climbs into the backseat to sit in between Lauren and Harry whilst Michael opens the door on my side.

"Scoot your ass-" Michael begins, but he can't finish his sentence.

"Language!" Ashton shouts at him, referring to his much too young and innocent siblings present in the car.

"Apologies. Scoot your bottom over, Luke. You're smaller than me so get in the middle." Michael demands. Guess I have no choice after all, sorry about this Ashton. I feel- and probably look- stupidly cramped in the middle seat. I might be skinnier than Michael, but I'm definitely longer, so this isn't exactly ideal. But then again, I do get to sit next to Ashton. And currently, he doesn't seem uncomfortable at all. He's still smiling like he always is. He's smiling at me, to be precise. I step on my foot since they're squished together and my shoe squeaks a little from it.

"Alright, we all buckled in?" Ashton asks, looking down to where my seatbelt buckles into place.

"Not yet, it's stuck-" Michael starts.

"Ah, so sad." Ashton says sarcastically as he starts driving anyway. Michael manages to get himself buckled in after a few seconds and Calum chuckles in the backseat.

"Wow, I see how it is. I guess Luke here is the only one who cares about me." Michael says, pretending to sound sad.

"Uh, when did Luke ever say that he cares about you?" Ashton replies.

"Well, he never said he didn't." Everyone including myself laughs at the irony of his joke since of course I never said that. I've never exactly said anything to him.

"That is so unfair, you know Luke is at a disadvantage here." Ashton says.

"Okay, fine. Luke, say nothing if you care about me." I cover my face with my hands as I laugh again.

"You know what Michael? Since you want to bully Luke so much this morning, he gets to choose where we get food right now." Ashton retorts.

"What?! Ashton, don't do this to me! I'm sorry! I'll never bully Luke ever again!" Michael begs.

"Don't apologize to me, apologize to Luke."

"Luke, I'm so-"

Before Michael can finish I clap my hands over my ears which sends everyone but him into a fit of laughter.
