*One Week Later*
I'm one week into attending UCLA as an English and Literature Arts major. My focus is creative writing since I want to become an author when I get out of college. Anyway, I'm also a week into my relationship with Colby. This weekend, we are going to go on our first official date. Colby told me that he wants to make it a surprise, so I have no idea what we're doing for our first date. Let's skip to the weekend, shall we? It's now Saturday morning, and I'm getting ready for my first official date with Colby, who is my new boyfriend. The outfit I decided to wear matches his aesthetics fairly well. An all-black look with a chain I bought from Hot Topic. Here is what my outfit looks like, a soft Goth look:

I roll up to Colby's apartment and knock on the door. Colby opens the door and says,
"Wow, you look great. Do you usually dress like that?"
"I usually dress way more comfier than this, but I decided to dress up for our first official date together. I thought you'd like this look." I said.
"Nah, I absolutely love it. You look really cute, babe." Colby said.
"So, where are we going for our first date?" I asked.
"That remains a mystery, babe. Follow me to my luxurious 2015 Toyota Corolla." Colby said.
This statement makes me laugh out loud, "I don't know what you think luxury is, but it's definitely not that."
"Leave my car alone, babe." Colby said.
He opens the passenger's side door for me and I get into the passenger's seat. Colby hops into the driver's seat and he holds my hand. Having a boyfriend for the first time in a year feels a little weird. It's definitely going to take me some getting used to all over again.

Colby and I arrive at our first date location; a Korean barbeque restaurant. I haven't been to a Korean barbeque restaurant since I first visited South Korea last summer in July. It will be interesting to see how America does Korean barbeque. Colby and I walk into the restaurant. It's called 7th Korean BBQ. Colby pulls out my chair for me and I take a seat. We take a look at the menu. I have this personal belief that doesn't allow me to eat bottom-feeding fish or pork, so I'll stay away from dishes that contain those types of food. Colby doesn't know about this, but it's just something that's a part of my personal religious beliefs. Anyway, I end up ordering in Korean to show off my Korean skills in front of Colby,
"닥터 페퍼 하나, 불고기 정식 하나, 그리고 데리야키 치킨 주세요." (Could I please get; one Dr. Pepper, one bulgogi jungsik, and one teriyaki chicken)
"Whoa, wait what? You can speak Korean?" Colby asked.
"Well, yeah. I studied Korean on my own for about a year on and off. I can still speak a little bit, and I just ordered my portion of food in Korean, including my drink." I said.
"That's so cool. Could you order my food in Korean too. I'll point to which ones I want." Colby said.
Colby is impressed that I can speak Korean so well, although, I personally think it could be better. Colby points out the dishes he would like to order, as well as his drink of choice.
"페리에수 하나, 잡채 하나, 그리고 LA갈비정식 주세요." I said, ordering Colby's portion of food(Could I please get; one Perrier water, one Japchae, and one LA Galbi Jungsik)
"Wow, that's cool. I had no idea you could speak Korean, let alone order our food in Korean." Colby said.
"네, 주문허신 물건은 바로 나올 겁니다." The waiter said(Your order will be right out)
"감삼니다." I said(Thank you)
"Your Korean is really good, you know that right?" Colby asked.
"I mean, it could be better." I said.
"Keep it up. I heard that knowing a second language can help when job searching." Colby said.
"Yeah. I learned German for 2 years in high school, but that's all gone now." I said.
"You're like a language genius." Colby said.
"I wouldn't say that. I only know 2 languages now; English and Korean." I said.
"Can I guess something about you?" Colby asked.
"Go for it." I said.
"You're into those Korean dramas and those pretty boys who can sing and dance. What are they called? K-pop idols?" Colby asked.
"Yeah, oh look on the TV. They're playing MANIAC by Stray Kids. That's one of the groups I like." I said.
"Whoa, they actually look really cool. Who's the guy with blue hair?" Colby asked.
"His name is Bang Chan, but his English name is Chris. He's actually from Sydney, Australia." I said.
"Cool." Colby said.

Then, after having a conversation all about my favorite K-pop groups and Korean dramas for about an hour, our food arrives. I dig straight into my food. Wow, this is actually delicious. When Colby and I finish eating dinner, he takes me to his favorite look-out spot in the Hollywood Hills. It's around 8PM now, and Colby drives about 30 minutes out to get to this look-out spot. Once arriving, Colby lays out a cozy picnic blanket on the dirt, close to the edge of the cliff so we can dangle our legs over the cliff. We sit down on the blanket together. I rest my head on Colby's shoulder. I never knew I could fall so fast for one boy. Colby makes me feel like the only girl in the world. As we're just enjoying the LA lights from up here, Colby has something to say,
"You know, I've never met a girl like you before. All the girls in LA, they feel super fake. You, you're the first girl who's felt genuine. I have only been able to find a few rare girls who are genuine, and you're one of them. I have legitemately fallen so deeply in love with you, and we've barely just met a week ago. I don't know what this feeling means. What I do know is that I want to spend a long time with you."
"Aww, baby. That's so sweet of you. You know, I started out as just a fan of yours back in 2018, when I was only 15. Now that I'm of age and it's legal for me to actually date you, I do think we'll have a long and healthy relationship." I said.
"It's weird to think of you when you were 15." Colby said.
"That's how old you were when you started Vine, right?" I asked.
"Yeah, I was about that age. Um, let's enjoy this view for a little." Colby said, stopping the conversation. Then, before I know it, Colby is kissing me for the first time.
