*June 24, 2024 | Going to Hawaii* "We're going to Hawaii, baby!" Colby exclaimed. "Wait, today? I just finished sophomore year today. Can't we go in a few days from now?" I asked. "Nope, I already booked the flight for today. We're going, babe." Colby said. "Well, alrighty then. I'll start packing my stuff then. How much do I need to pack?" I asked. "Well, you said you were going to do a semester abroad in South Korea this upcoming fall semester right?" Colby asked. "Yeah, I already got help from the study abroad office at UCLA, and they helped me apply to Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea for my junior year. I actually just got accepted last month." I said. "Oh, congratulations! Well, if you have to go for the fall semester, we're staying in Hawaii until August. We'll come back early August, just so you have time to prepare for your study abroad program." Colby said. "Okay, so we'll be in Hawaii for about a month. I gotta pack a month's worth of clothing. Hmm, let me go raid my closet real quick." I said, disappearing into our room. "Uh okay. See ya." Colby said, laughing.
I go into our room and I open our closet. Colby and I share a closet, one side is his and the other side is mine. I pick out 30 outfits for our month-long vacation in Kauai, Hawaii. I also get to see the new Trap House 2.0. I'm super excited to meet all of Colby's roommates. I used to watch their videos, and they're all really funny. Once I finish packing 30 days worth of clothes, a couple pair of shoes, and some sunscreen for Hawaii, I'm now ready to go to the airport with Colby. We'll be flying with Hawaiian Airlines from LAX to LIH in Kauai, Hawaii. The flight only takes around 6 hours. Once landing in Kauai, Hawaii, Colby rents a Jeep and he drives me to the Trap House 2.0.
We arrive to the Trap House 2.0 where; Sam, Kat, Corey, Devyn, Jake, and Tara are waiting to welcome us home. I'm so glad I'm not the only girl here. I've just realized something too. This house is just full of couples. Sam and Katrina are a couple. Corey and Devyn are a couple. Jake and Tara are a couple. Finally, Colby and I are a couple. This house in Kauai is the romantic house of couples. There are 4 couples living in this house. Sam told me it's weird to see Colby with a girlfriend since Colby has been single for a long time before he met me. I guess I was the one who broke his streak of being single. I'm glad to break that. Colby is everything I could ever ask for in a boyfriend.
Later that afternoon, Colby and I go to the beach together. I'm wearing my favorite bikini while Colby is wearing his favorite pair of swim trunks. Colby pauses for a moment and when I turn around he's on one knee, proposing to me, "Raeshel. We have been together a short 301 days, 9 months and 27 days. I know for sure now that you are the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. I would like nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with you. So, will you marry me?" Colby giggles of happiness and kisses me passionately. "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, baby girl." Colby said. "Me neither. You're truly the love of my life." I said. "I feel the same. Let's go to the house and tell the roomies." Colby said. "Okay." I said. Colby and I get in his car and we drive back to the Trap House. Once arriving back to the house, Colby and I are smiling ear to ear. "Guys! Sam, Corey, Jake, Kat, Devyn! Come down here quickly! We have a huge announcement to make!" Colby screams so all the roommates can hear. "What is is bro?" Sam asked. "Grab the other roommates, I have a huge announcement to make." Colby said. "Oh, alright." Sam said, running upstairs to grab the other roommates.
Once all the roommates are gathered in the living room, I'm sitting between Devyn and Kat on the couch. "Baby, come stand next to me." Colby said. I get up and stand next to Colby. "We have a huge announcement." Colby continues. "Let me guess, you're. . . Pregnant!" Corey exclaimed. "No." I said, laughing. "We're engaged!" Colby exclaimed. "Oou, girl. Let's see that ring." Kat said. I show off my beautiful blue topaz ring to the roommates. "Damn Colby. You went ballin' on this engagement ring for your girl." Corey said. "Yeah, how much was it?" Jake asked. "It was around $1,500." Colby said. "Babe! You didn't have to spend that much on my ring." I said, shocked. "I wanted to make sure it was perfect for you. The right ring size, 8.5, and that it was crafted to suit your personality." Colby explained. "Wow, this means so much to me, baby." I said. "When's the wedding?" Sam asked. "Probably when she comes back from Korea. When is that again, babe?" Colby asked. "I'll be back on June 25, 2025. I'll be doing my whole junior year at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea." I said. "Wow, I'll miss you so much." Colby said. "I'll miss you too, babe." I said.
With the announcement of our engagement out of the way, it's time to celebrate it! Sam throws us an engagement celebration party. He really didn't need to go all out for this, but we appreciate it nonetheless. The girls; Kat and Devyn, are especially excited for the wedding. I told them that they get to be 2 of my 5 bridesmaids. I still need to pick 3 more. I may choose one of my cousins as my 3rd bridesmaid. I'm still thinking about it. Colby and I have a whole year to plan out our wedding before I come back from my study abroad program in Korea.
