Around 11PM, Colby and I leave the look out point. Colby drives me back to my apartment so I have time to sleep before having to go to work tomorrow. That night, my first date with Colby kept replaying in my head. That one scene in particular where he kissed me for the first time, I just couldn't shake from my mind. I put my first date at the back of my mind so I can focus on going to work today. My shift is from 9AM until 6PM, with a one-hour lunch hour and two 15-minute breaks. Two hours into my shift, I take my first 15-minute break. Then, two hours after that, I am supposed to take my lunch, which is an hour long. When I get back from lunch, my second 15-minute break follows two hours later. I work as a teacher's aid at UCLA for my Korean professor, Mrs. Sohn, and that's my usual schedule on Sundays. I help Mrs. Sohn grade papers, revise essays, and put in grades for her students. Mrs. Sohn doesn't allow me to grade my own work because that's for her to do.
When my shift at UCLA is over at 6PM, I head over to Colby's apartment. Colby's apartment has white walls and black furniture. He has a master bedroom and a guest room in his apartment. He uses his guest room for filming. When I eventually move in with Colby, I'll probably stay in the master bedroom. It has a California king-sized bed, and overhang drapes. It's a beautiful bedroom, I love it so much. Colby also told me about his vacation house that they have in Kauai, Hawaii. It's called the Trap House 2.0. I would love to go to that house one of these days, perhaps during summer vacation, the summer before my junior year. Before I eventually fly off to Seoul, South Korea to do a whole year abroad at Yonsei University. I didn't even tell Colby about my plans to go study abroad. He has no idea about that.
"Can you take me to the Trap House 2.0 in Kauai, Hawaii this summer?" I asked.
"Of course. I think the guys would love to meet you out there." Colby said.
"I've never been to Hawaii, and I've always wanted to go." I said.
"Then, it's settled. I'm taking you to the Trap House 2.0 this summer." Colby said.
"Awesome! I can't wait to see it and meet all your roommates. It's; Sam, Kat, Corey, Jake, and Tara, right?" I asked.
"Yeah." Colby said.
"So, you have a house in Hawaii and an apartment here in LA, what's about that?" I asked.
"Well, the house in Kauai, Hawaii is just a rental and a vacation home. This apartment is the place I use to be on my own, and the place I stay where I go for work, stuff like that." Colby explained.
"Ah, I see." I said.
"How do you like your apartment?" Colby asked.
"It's kind of expensive. More than I was expecting, so I've had to work two jobs." I said.
"If you want, you can terminate your apartment lease and move in with me. We can split the rent." Colby said.
"You're gonna let me move in right away?" I asked.
"Well, yeah. I know we only started started about a week ago, but I think we can start getting serious." Colby said.
"Okay, deal. I'll go and terminate my lease, pay my last month's rent, then I can move in." I said.
"Okay, sounds good babe." Colby said. That following morning, I head to UCLA and attend my classes as usual from 9AM until 12PM. My college schedule for Monday is the following; Communications, Developmental Psychology, and Korean Studies. My Tuesday schedule is: Algebra, Biology, and Dance. For Wednesday, my schedule is; English Literature, Creative Writing II, and Theatre. Last of all, my Thursday schedule is; Religious Studies, Music, and Asian Studies. I usually have 3 classes a day for 4 days a week. I don't have any classes on Friday. I like that most of my college classes deal with the performance arts. For example; music, creative writing, and dance. In my music class, I tend to work on my vocal skills and singing. That's what I do in my music class, as well as learned how to play guitar. I quite like my schedule for sophomore year. I got to do a lot of fun classes, and classes that I wouldn't get to do at my old university. UNR only offered; Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and French as foreign language options. Here at UCLA, they offered Korean, which is what I was looking for. I'm so glad that I was able to transfer into such a great university. Despite it being expensive, my higher education is worth the extra expenses.
When my classes get out at 12PM, I go out for lunch with Colby at Tender Greens. This is a healthy restaurant who serves all their food free of any animal products. They serve vegetarian and vegan food options. This place seems like a place I'll come to a lot since I want to start eating healthier. I order a Cesar Salad with ranch on the side with a glass of water to drink. Colby orders a Greek Salad. I honestly don't see the difference between a Cesar Salad and a Greek Salad. I think they're the same thing just with different names. Once Colby and I finish eating lunch, we head to my apartment so I can terminate my lease and pay my last month's rent. My last rent payment comes out to be $2,973. That's a big chunk of change that I had to pull out of my checking account. It hurt my bank account a little bit, but this means I can move in with Colby now. I thought moving in was for 3 or 4 months into a relationship, not a week in. I guess Colby and I are moving a little faster than I thought we would. Anyway, once terminating my lease with my apartment and making the final payment, I have 3 days to move completely out. Colby helps me move my belongings out of my apartment. It took us about 3 hours to get the first U-Haul trailer completely full and moved to Colby's apartment. Then, it took another 3 hours to move the remainder of my belongings from my old apartment into Colby's apartment. With all my things moved into Colby's apartment, I've officially moved in with him.
