I quickly leave KQ Entertainment and head straight to my dorm at Yonsei University. I check the time in Hawaii to see if it's a good time to video call Colby because this is really important. Colby picks up after 2 rings.
"Hey, baby. How's Korea?" Colby asked.
"It's good, but I really need to tell you something." I said.
"What is it, babe?" Colby asked.
"I kissed a K-pop idol today. His name is San Choi from ATEEZ. I'm so sorry, he kissed me first." I said.
"What?! You go to Korea and cheat on me with one of those K-pop skanks?!" Colby asked, visibly angry.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to kiss him. He kissed me first. For the record, he apologized after finding out that I'm engaged. Can you please forgive me?" I asked.
"Promise me you're not gonna go out and kiss more guys after this." Colby said, calming down.
"I promise. I'm completely committed to you, babe. You know this." I said.
"Okay, good. Well, enjoy the rest of your year at Yonsei University. We'll talk about this when you get back." Colby said.
"So, you're not mad about me kissing that guy?" I asked.
"I was, but since you said he apologized for not knowing about me, I understood. I'm not mad anymore." Colby said.
"Okay, good. I'll talk to you later, babe. I've got to grab dinner." I said.
"Alright, have a good evening, babe." Colby said, then hung up.
Huh, I would have thought that Colby would be more angry than that.

*December 5, 2024 | Winter Semester*
Today, the winter semester at Yonsei University begins. This will be my first time celebrating Christmas and New Year's in South Korea. Since moving here for language school, I've made so many friends who I hang out with when I study. When my classes get over with, I go out to a café to grab a peppermint coffee from Starbucks. I thought it was quite festive and in season. Christmas has got to be one of my favorite holidays. I just wish Colby were here to celebrate Christmas with me in Korea. Maybe he'll come here to surprise me. I'll never know until it actually happens.

I leave the café and decide to visit a place I have yet to visit in Seoul, Starfield Library. I'm a book nerd, so this place is like heaven to me. I arrive at Starfield Library and walk around. I browse the romantic comedy section. Those are my favorite types of books after all. All the books are all published in Korean. This will give me a chance to practice my Korean reading skills. I choose the books titled Weaving A Net With Sunlight by Kong Soon-Hae and Please Look After Mom by Shin Kyung-Sook. I am on level 3 of Korean, so I should be able to read these books fairly easily, although it might take me a while to get through them since I read Korean very slowly. Once purchasing my new books, I put them in my backpack and bring them back to my dorm room.

I then sit at my desk and begin reading Please Look After Mom by Shin Kyung-Sook. While I'm reading, Colby video calls me. I put a bookmark in my book and answer his call.
"Hey, babe! How's it going?" Colby asked.
"Good. I'm just reading my new book called Please Look After Mom by Shin Kyung-Sook." I said.
"Nice, nice. Hey, I was thinking, Christmas is only 20 days away. You have to stay in Korea, and I was thinking of going to see you in Korea for our first Christmas together." Colby said.
"Yes, please come here and spend my first Christmas in Korea." I said.
"I already booked the flight, and I should arrive around a week before Christmas." Colby said.
"I can't wait to see you, babe. I missed you so much." I said.
"I miss you too. Can't wait to see your pretty face in person again." Colby said.
"I love you, Colby." I said.
"I love you too." Colby said, blowing kisses at me.

After having an hour-long phone conversation, Colby hangs up and I go back to reading my book. Yeji comes into the dorm and asks what I'm reading.
"It's called Please Look After Mom by Shin Kyung-Sook." I said.
"May I see?" Yeji asked.
"Yeah, sure." I said, handing the book to Yeji.
"Ah, it's written all in Korean." Yeji said.
"Yeah, I wanted to practice my Korean reading skills." I said.
"That's good." Yeji said.
"When you're done, can I have it back?" I asked.
"Yeah." Yeji said.
Yeji can also speak fluent English, as it's her second language. She went to the Philippines to learn English while she was in high school. That's why her English is so good. When Yeji finishes looking at my book, she hands it back to me. I read through to the second chapter and have to take a break. My brain is trying to process all the Hangul I just read. Sometimes it's hard for me to understand the Korean I read. I think I'm doing fairly well though.

Later that day, I decided to order delivery fried chicken to the dorm. I ordered from a super popular Korean fried chicken brand called B.B.Q Chicken. Once the chicken arrives to the dorm, I share it with Yeji. It's common in Korea to have chicken and beer, but since I don't drink, we have the alternative; chicken and cola. In Korean, it's called 치콜. Once we finish eating dinner, it's about time to go to bed. I climb into bed and fall asleep quickly. My dreams are filled with spending my first Christmas in Korea with the love of my life, Colby Brock. I can't wait to see him again. I can't wait to set up a little Christmas tree and open presents with him on Christmas morning. Ah! It's gonna be such a good holiday season.
