Chapter 18

Naruto's POV

As the time went by, I got used to this school. I now know where to go in which hour and where not to go. I now can tell which people are safe to deal with and which people are sadistic.

"As you know, the exam is after some months and all of you are studying hard, maybe you need a change of weather and a little enjoyment now." Soon the class starts to be full with chattering as all of them have a good idea about the school arranging something for them.

Kakashi who is our homeroom teacher says after giving him us time to discuss among us about what it could be,"The principal wanted us the teachers to take you for a tour. Maybe some other country. That will be up to you to choose."

I see their eyes lightening up with a smile. This will be great opportunity. At least that was I thinking until I heard,"You'll have to pay before the next tutorial exam. About the cost, I can guess, it will be pretty much *****."

I was about to choke on air. The number is too much. I wonder if my father earns that much in months or not. I can't possibly give them a call and tell them to transfer the amount to my bank account as if it's nothing. I'm sure this didn't leave enough effect on anyone like it did on me. I sigh dismissing all of my excitement and idea about visiting another country.

I left the classroom with a bunch of excited teenagers. I remember the time, I used to feel like this too just before going on a trip with others from my previous school to the country side. It used to be normal field trips. But it was fun.

But this school is different. I knew before coming here that I can't possibly get along with everyone because their lifestyle is on another level. I'm the lowest in here and because of it I keep a low profile.

"Why do you look so down, Naruto kun?" Hinata says nervously as she sneaked behind me to take the empty seat beside mine. I was avoiding her since that day. It's been a week but my anger seems not to go down. I am a person to hold grudges forever, so it's nothing.

She whines getting no feedback from me,"Naruto kun...I'm sorry for that day. Look I'm right under your feet right now. Won't you forgive me now?" I look at her giving me puppy eyes as if it's going to work on me.

I'm cold to most of the people, but sometimes she melts my frozen heart. I don't bear romantic feelings for her but I like her in some other way. That's the reason I'm putting up with her pitiful act. I sigh.

Hinata grins as she gets the idea about me softening. She says,"Is it about the trip!" I tell her,"Yes." Hinata says,"The money is the problem, isn't it? I wish I could help but my brother always do the things which are needed. I have nothing in my hand, I have nothing to help you."

I tell her,"I wouldn't take your help either. I can stay behind and study for exam." Hinata looks a bit down but I ignored her. Showing me that sympathetic look won't do anything. That look just makes me look more pathetic. I came here to study, not to have fun anyway.

The next day

The thing what happened was so unfortunate and unfair. While all the others were excited about choosing some country for the trip, the principal more listened to the council. When Kakashi broke the news of selecting the place already, all of them got disappointed.

"How could you do that, sensei!" Hinata said being the voice of others. All of them were silent but their eyes were glaring at Kakashi who looks calm and unbothered. Kakashi shrugs as he says,"It's not it's up to me. You could just go and yell at your principal."

Like anyone would do that. Hinata says,"You know nobody dares to stand up against them. You could do something instead." Kakashi says,"I can tell them that no one from my class is wanting to go. Do you want me to do that?" Hinata sighs before sitting down on her seat. Seems like everyone is disappointed just like the class representative.
