One afternoon on a Wednesday
After the night I stayed up late
I decided to come to school anyway
In every minute tried to survive the dayUnstable steps down the stairs
Led to you, while talked to your friendsWe both looked up
And all my power slumped
As you stopped talking
I saw shock flooding inWe held the eye contact
Despite everything from the past
You almost saw it's over
But I had to turn in the cornerI fled to the nearest bathroom
Prayed there's nothing you presumeI looked up in the mirror
Down my spine ran the shiver
I met my dull gaze
Saw my cheeks were so paleThinking back the look on your face
Still picks up my heart rate
I thought you saw it in my eyes
But luckily I turned my gaze in time2021.07.11.
