She didn't notice at first. Nobody did. How could they?
But sometimes, on the worst days, her head would spin.
her heart would pound
her hands went numb
her stomach would twist
her throat would close
her eyes would fill
She overthought most everything, but only she knew the extent. People stared and judged and watched and laughed and cared about how she looked at any given moment.
At least, that's what she thought. She played sports, got good grades, and had a perfect family. Everyone always commented on her mother's kindness especially.
So she smiled and agreed with them, slowly shoving memories down into the deep, dark lake in the back of her mind. She pushed them down so far that most of the memories faded away forever. Most. But not all.
