why i haven't heard before?I hear the sound come from upstairs.Ugh damn humanity.
I walked upstairs taking a silent step. I prayed God that the stairs wouldn't creek or squeak. I turned towards left and right listening from which side the sound came from. The grunting sound leaked on left side making flinch. I moved towards the hall and saw about five zombies banging on the door and a scream came from the room .
From the sound I think its from a girl of may be 6 years old.On hearing her desperate horrific scream I felt angry at Jack and myself for not able to save my friend.
I stood up and whistled at them.
They groaned turning towards me.I don't know where the gut to face zombies came from. But I blame it on my rage and guilt fueled adrenaline.
"Come here you idiots" i spat at them rocking on my heels.
I saw two man and three women who covered with blood and with blank webbed eyes like spider legs. I shuddered internally.
They started to come towards me grunting.Fuck they are coming at me. They are coming towards me for me. Stop rambling.
I held my axe hardly and clenching my teeth inhaling.
I screeched knocking the man who charged at me first.
"You want flesh uh ? Come and try me stupids" I screamed and knocked the second man.
While longing my axe towards the women another zed came towards me and jumped on me.
I ducked . It fell down and rolled down the stairs with cracking sound of broken bone.Oops sorry buddy. No brains for you.
Only one left and i finished it off with a strike.
I walked towards the door where i heard the screaming of girl.
I turned the knob cautiously with my axe in my hand firmly.Entered the room I looked around but there is no one.I silently closed the door and locked it.
It is fully decorated with pink colour and full of dolls.I crouched down finding a girl of about 6 sobbing and shaking.I moved towards her slowly.
she started to shake uncontrollably.
"Its okay sweetie come here.You are safe now." I cooed and held my hand towards her.
She turned her head towards me and looked with eyes full of tears and fear.
"I promise.we have to leave come here baby" I said still crouching near the bed.
She started to move towards me still shaking .I can say how it feels being alone surrounded by this inhuman thing.
she came out still maintaining her distance with me.
"Its okay trust me.Come on." i coaxed wiggling my hand towards her.
she took my hand hesitantly , i held her hand tightly in mine and took axe in another.
Now the question is where we have to move?Jack said he is in zoo yeah.
I searched around to find the backpack so that i can pack some water and food but i can't find one.
The girl watched me with her tear brimming eyes. I smiled at her.
"Come here sweetie" I called her in a gentle voice.She took small hesitant steps still with fearful eyes.I took her small arms in mine.
Even though i don't know who is she ,i want her to be safe.
"Look sweetie iam here for you .I will do anything to keep you safe .i promise okay" I said caressing her cheek softly.
She smiled innocently and hugged me which i haven't expected. Chuckling i patted on her back.She pulled away.
"So what's your name sweetie?" I asked touching her nose tip.
She giggled "Jacqueline" She said in her small voice .
"Wow sweet name for sweet girl"I said wiping her tears away.So cliche.
Anyway she laughed that's all I need.
On seeing her innocent smile i want her to smile and laugh like this always.
I searched around and saw a barbie girl backpack.
"Is that yours jac?" I asked her pointing the bag.
she nodded looking at it.
"Okay go pick it up" I instructed standing up.She is wearing a cute frock.But i want her to be comfortable while travelling.
I searched in her closet and found a pant and small shirt for her.
She picked her bag and handed it to me.
"Ok Jac. Listen we are going to place where we will be safe.Now wear this ok." I said handing her the clothes.
She obeyed wearing the clothes with my help.
"Okay now i want you to show me your Mom's room.Shall we go?" I asked her taking her bag with me.
"Okay" she said clutching my hand.
I picked the axe in my other hand which is crusted with dried blood. I held back my disgust.
"Jac you should listen whatever i say to you without thinking and don't make any sound okay" I whispered .
She nodded understandingly.
"Good, now follow close to me" I said opening the door silently with a prayer.
