Both Candace and Vanessa had just finished getting their stuff ready for tomorrow's classes and were getting ready to go to sleep when out of nowhere Candace's phone began ringing and she retrieved it from her purse and saw the caller ID displayed her boyfriend's name Jason. "Hey babe" she said cheerfully. "Hey babe I miss you already and you haven't even been gone for a whole day yet! How am I going to survive till Christmas without you" he pouted over the phone "awe I miss you so too baby but don't worry before you know it we will be together again and we'll pick up right where we left off" she said as she laid on her bed staring up at the ceiling. He chuckled a little bit "well until that day finally arrives I'll miss you like crazy." She smiled at hearing those wonderful words. "Ugh Jason I would love to continue talking with you but I gotta go to sleep I have to wake up early tomorrow" "alright I'll let you get some rest I love you" "I love you too baby I'll talk to you later bye." She said hanging up and then sighing as she felt her heart ache for him. She missed him too but she was sure they were going to make this long distance relationship work.I mean after all they've been together for four years now and have had their ups and downs there was nothing or anyone that could tear them apart. She thought to herself.
Meanwhile Vanessa sat up from her bed and looked over at Candace "so how long have you guys been together?" "4 years" she said smiling "wow so high school sweethearts that's cute where is he studying?" "He's not, he's back in my hometown" "oh" Vanessa said surprised "where are you from?" "Danville, were you born and raised here in New York?" "Yeah I was Anyways are you excited to start classes tomorrow?" Vanessa asked, sitting on her side of the bed. "Yeah but I'm also kinda nervous but it's a good kind of nervous you know what I mean?" she said "yeah I do but don't worry you'll make new friends in no time." She said, smiling at her. "Yeah it'll be interesting getting to know new people anyways we should probably try and get some rest for tomorrow." She said shutting her phone off. "Yeah that's a good idea good night." Vanessa said and they both drifted off to sleep.
It was the next morning when both Candace and Vanessa woke up to their alarms on their phones. "Uh you would think after waking up this early after four years of high school that I'd be used to waking up at this time." Candace said, turning off her alarm Vanessa lightly chucked "I know right but I guess we're just not morning people" she said and they both laughed as they finished getting themselves ready. "What do you think of my outfit?" Candace asked, having both her hands to her hips. She was wearing a long sleeve red shirt with dark blue skinny jeans and black Nikes. "Hmm I like it you look good Candace what do you think of my outfit?" Vanessa was wearing black skinny jeans with a black long sleeve shirt and black adidas. Yes she's really into the color black. "I love it looks really good on you." She said and they both grabbed their backpacks heading out their dorm room and to their separate classes. "So I guess we'll see each other after classes then" Candace said while they were walking towards the exit of the building. "Yeah have a good first day and are you planning on joining any clubs?" "Yeah I'm probably going to see what kind of clubs they have before heading to my first class bye Vanessa see you in a little bit." They both waved each other off and went their separate ways.
As Candace was observing all the different clubs she could join. She was amazed at all the different options she had and there was one in particular that caught her eyes called the journalism club. She smiled to herself and made her way over and noticed it was the same tall blonde boy who she recognized from her building. He was seated in a chair underneath the booth. "Hi, is this where we sign up?" She asked, standing in front of him with a table separating them. "Hi yes it is I'm Jeremy Johnson I'm the one who's in charge basically." "Oh it's nice to meet you Jeremy. I'm Candace Flynn." She said as they shook hands. "It's nice meeting you too Candace so I don't think I've seen you around here before, are you a freshman? Or a transfer?" "Freshman and you?" She asked "I'm a sophomore, what's your major?" "I'm a journalism major and you?" He chuckled "same what classes are you taking maybe we have some together?" He asked, smiling up at her. "Um, I'm taking an introduction to journalism and laws of mass communication as well as some other classes I can't remember at the top of my head." She responded and he nodded his head. "Well I'm also taking laws of mass communication. I took the other class last year that you mentioned first." "Oh nice" "yeah so are you planning on signing up for the club?" "Oh yeah" she said, slightly embarrassed as she wrote her name down on the clipboard. He smiled "so I guess I'll see you in class and in the club which by that way we meet every Tuesday at 6 o'clock." "Okay well I better get going, I don't want to be late on my first day." She said smiling "okay take care and it was nice meeting you." He said waving her off. "Wow, he's really handsome!" She thought to herself as she walked away to her first class.
